RE: Subaru Legacy Spec B: Spotted
Discussion
The Spec B is a pretty decent car, it's just a shame Eric's blinkered, anal attitude puts people off before giving it a chance.
It's by no means fast in a straight line, the engine sounds lovely at the top end but lacks any grunt below 3500. Country roads are where it's at it's best, the handling on the Bilstein suspension means you can really fling it about just like a slightly bigger, more refined Impreza.
There's a reason the saloon is a rare sight. They never sold well when new simply because it looks so dull and uninspiring especially when parked beside the much more stylish estate.

It was months ago so no link I'm afraid. I am mental but I think you may need to get yourself checked out too.
So I am a BMW fanboy now as I don't worship an old Japanese saloon? Get over yourself.
Why didn't you get something decent like a VI RS rather than a decent but rather dull old Legacy?
I call BS, especially from a poster like yourself who has a chronic history of sprouting shiite, the Legacy is only dull to spaced out people like yourself to everyone else its a perfect sleeper that gets from A to B in most weather conditions with some aplomb. So I am a BMW fanboy now as I don't worship an old Japanese saloon? There is an 07 reg manual facelift saloon here for £5750 - you cant even tell the difference between a 2.0GT or a UK SpecB I am pretty sure

That’s the thing. It really is a very bland, typically universal Japanese car to look at. I guess that’s an advantage if it’s decent but why they made it so boring to behold is beyond me? Agreed that the estate looks miles better! It's by no means fast in a straight line, the engine sounds lovely at the top end but lacks any grunt below 3500. A remap fixes that, my attitude is not blinkered most of the problem stems from stuck up people on PH who think they have a god forsaken right to be answer to everything, in most cases far too many people on here are so far stuck up a high horse they would need oxygen and need a pegging back, others like Sideways Si are just trollsIt's by no means fast in a straight line, the engine sounds lovely at the top end but lacks any grunt below 3500..
Subaru, not just the Legacy but the entire fleet is not popular in the UK - but thats fine the people in the know realise what good cars Subaru make and the british market is of no real importance to Subaru themselves, they sell all their cars elsewhere and people like myself and others can pull up at lights and not be surrounded by similar German cars at every set of traffic lights, and the H6 engine sounds great all the way to the red line (especially with a cat back SS exhaust), much more so than most of the newer mainstream cars with turbos.

SidewaysSi - Please stop wasting space trolling Eric, I know he's a tad singleminded about his Legacy but its pretty pointless to keep insulting it for the sake of a reaction, just move on. Not sure if it was you or someone else previously but it wouldn't be the first thread to degenerate into useless back and forth due to that.
He has the mental capacity of a chimp and cant help it so its not surprising he keeps ranting on hereEdited by GravelBen on Saturday 12th January 03:10

But it’s ok for the resident Legacy troll to go on and on about BMW drivers etc, etc....
‘A tad single minded’ well there’s an understatement!
The thread was ticking along nicely until yourself and Sideways si barged in, ironic‘A tad single minded’ well there’s an understatement!
why dont you just stick to the other threads on BMWs,where I am sure your wealth of wisom is much more appreciated rather than getting stressed up on some clonker Subaru cars? just a thought which I think most people on here would be a jolly good idea also

It's the only reason he's even on PH, they're both irritating, but at least Eric's passionate about his car, which as we know is strictly forbidden on PistonHeads, unless you're a director or in a Golf R of course. Edited by GravelBen on Saturday 12th January 03:10

Shall we all just have a big hug as you seem a little emotionally fragile?

have you ever driven a Legacy SpecB? Do you ever intend to drive one? Have you even driven a Subaru?with that clarified why are you even on this thread, you dont have any real basis to back up anything you are saying unlike comments from myself or other previous or current owners, why not hop along to some other sites on the interweb where you wealth of automotive knowledge may at least be some bit useful rather than trolling threads like this.

It's because his beast of a Spec B once got "passed out" by a BMW 116d and his fragile ego can't handle it.
my ego is fine, i have no interest in BMWs less so some weedy diesels - also I dont tend to act a moron in built up areas unllike BMW owners - dont you concur?A SpecB would run rings around a little116d with ease

Eric, this thread is about a Subaru, why are you obsessed with BMWs ? What's up ?
i think its why BMW owners as so obsessed with my Subaru? It probably goes back to that thread when I left some 116/118d whatever BMW for dust at M271 traffic lights and saw it approach my rear bumper (+/- .2cm) after changing lanes to eventually get behind me after which i left it on its merry way towards redbridge roundabout.I never though that would hurt BMW fans so much but hey ho, I was not even in S# mode back then but i dont tend to do 100mph speeds towards roundabouts in a built up area which is the opposite of what owners of the ultimate driving machine do i guess.

Don't tend to act a moron? I seem to remember you posted a dashcam clip with you driving at 40 in a 30 limit and almost causing an accident by swerving into oncoming traffic. You wouldn't accept you had done anything wrong so I doubt your driving has improved since then.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
