If you can handle bar caseloads, you can handle this.

This is a made up story....
Could be based on a true story, just somewhat inflated
Or the OP isn't having a Goodyear
I'd have probably kept it low profile rather than posting all over PH.
We should probably forget about this thread now, and move on to the Nexen.
Looks like OP has gone quiet under pressure.

Dear PistonHeads,

I have ragged the arse out of my dads M3 and now he wants to know where his tyres have gone.

Do you recon I could get away with blaming it on the lads at the ICE place?

OP, Contis are awful for wear, especially so when ragging it.

I took my old Continental Contact-Sport 5Ps from 3mm down to the cords in a few hours of harsh acceleration/wheel-spinning. There were literally chunks of tread missing due to being ripped out by the rough road surface, exposing the cords. That was in a 300bhp hot hatch. I was shocked at the wear rate.

Give me the keys to an M3 on my lunch break, and I show you what I mean smile Would be very easy in a heavy, powerful car.

No mention of over inflation? A mate bought a car with perfectly decent tyres. After a couple of weeks they were utter toast. They were over 50 psi.

I'm going to have to "Trust but verify" on that one.

How much over 50 psi?

I regularly run my tyres at 45 psi which is the max pressure allowed with zero side effects, in fact they generally last a lot longer at that pressure.

Under inflation is much much worse for both tyre wear and handling.

On my car I'm instructed to inflate to 46psi on the rears when loaded, so I can't see how 50 would be dangerous.

Can't remember. It was ages ago. But it was an Integrale and their recommended pressure is 32/33. There may also have been a tracking issue but they certainly looked very sad and it was from a reputable dealer.

You'll find the centers wear faster.
No manufacturer for saloons/hatchbacks recommends 45psi.
Most are around 33-35.
I notice hugely at 42psi on my car it's crap!!
