Has Clarkson ever crashed in a similar Hammond / McGuiness way?
Has Hammond had a road crash? I recall the jet powered car on an airstrip and the electric car which was a closed road in a racing situation. Both very different IMO.

Harris famously binned a Ferrari on the road, and a 911.

Didn’t Clarkson crash a hire car in NZ when racing the boat.

The one that miraculously changed colour.

What about Woolard, Goffey, Edmonds, Berry, Mason, Butler-Henderson etc and their crashiness if we are really doing a league table of Top Gear Presenters ?

I heard Woolard lightly chaffed an Alfa 164 rear quarter with the zip on his cardigan once. VBH took out the windscreen in a Fiat Tipo 16 valve and traumatised every dog in a five mile radius after letting out one of her loud and enthusiastic squeak noises.

I've owned a few fast cars in my long driving career, so naturally, I'm a PH driving god. cool However, if I was ever fortunate enough to own one of these monsters, I'd decamp to the nearest airfield, where there's nothing to hit and find out how quickly they can bite the driver. Didn't a certain Stig on the TG track have a whoopsie with a Koenigsegg, on a corner he'd driven through 100's of times?

PS. How we discovered whose Diablo it is/was yet?

Didn't he blame torrential rain yesterday?

I wonder how old the tyres are.
In some of the photos online there is a pickup truck with a significantly wide tyre in the back...
They must wear out quickly on these old motors when driven within the constraints of the law bandit

Spoke to my parents last night and they said it was extremely wet yesterday in the locality, I'd be very surprised if there wasn't a lot of water around the area which looked to be east of Ribblehead between Gearstones and Newby Head road. It's a fast piece of road (or can be!)

Almost all motoring journos have binned something at some point or another.

I don't think there's many people could take cars like an old Diablo to the limit on the road and get away with it for long.

I would imagine that'd be spares in case of punctures etc. as it'd be a bit of a nightmare to have it all organised only to get a flat tyre and have to stop filming and source a 315/45/18 or whatever stupid size tyre in a rural location hehe

I'm not a fan of the guy but I'd give him some slack, fairly hot and dry weather recently followed by rain can make for interesting driving in a normal car on regular tyres, nevermind an old, wide and unforgiving supercar on I imagine performance/dry weather orientated tyres.

Doesn't testify as to tyre age, but have seen an MoT record posted from early May where one rear tyre was an advisory item as worn close to the legal limit.

Suspect age of rubber as you say a challenge in an uncommon size.

Of course until recently they would have got away without any publicity because not every Tom Dick and Harry had a smartphone so could fim it and put it on social media before the car had even stopped!

What Ferrari was that? The 911 was someone doing a three point turn in the middle of the road, or so I read. Harris ploughed into him but I'd suggest it would be a bit unfair to state Harris had binned it.

A milk float reversed into my 911 last year, does this mean I had binned it?
