Amethyst Metallic.
Like that!

One of my faves is Porsche Amazon Green - there’s a 928 GTS near me in that colour, with magenta leather - looks ace.

Also

Porsche Rubystone on a 964
FIAT Broom Yellow on a Mk1 Punto GT
BMW Dakar on an E36 M3
Mazda Soul Red - which seems to suit every car in their current range
Lotus Carlton Green - whatever that’s called
Ferrari Verde Pinot on a 308 qv

I notice that a few of you guys have put purple cars. I have always kept away from these in the past and there is a car I have seen recently thats purple that I really quite like. I think the reason stopping me buying one is that to me it seems a bit of a female colour or do I need to stop being so uptight?!

Never been a fan of green but the Emerald green on a Lotus is fantastic

Viola metallic - another unusual and rarely seen colour.

BMW's Le Mans Blue. I had an E90 in that colour and it's always been my favourite. They've not made a blue as good since.
Same and I had that with my E90 330i/X5 4.8iS.

A darker blue is my favourite closely followed by black. I also like to see red really polished up too.

I might be biased as it's mine but seeing as Laguna Seca Blue has been mentioned but not pictured yet

Never one to stray too far from the flock I was so tempted last year by a Rivieria Blue GT3

Really liking some of the purples on here and as someone has said earlier petrol blue from Renault is similar to a BMW individual colour (also just called Petrol I think) which looks really smart.

BMW's new Dravit Grey colour is quite unique in my opinion.

Whenever Germans move away from monochrome they can make cracking colours.

Mercedes Designo mystic blue and designo mystic red

Volvo Gul Yellow
BMW Dakar Yellow
BMW Techno Violet
Renault Liquid Yellow
Ford Imperial Blue
Ford Electric White
Ford Nitrous Blue
Porsche Cassis Red
Porsche Crayon Grey
Lotus Norfolk Mustard Yellow

Now that is a colour I can get behind cloud9

I’m a bit of a Paint Pervert on cars. Usually metallics or triple stages. Here are just some of my favourites:

Old skool but Rover Tahiti Blue, very nice dark blue with a metallic fleck.
BMW Sakhir Orange, superb.
For a black JLR Santorini Black is stunning in the sun with purples, blues & whites in the metallic.
Mercedes Hyacinth Red is very underrated, looks great on an AMG GTC.
Alfa Romeo Radicofani Red, looks brown....then when the sun comes out is the colour of an Italian sunset.
Focus RS Ultimate Green, triple stage with gold fleck, crackles in the sun.
JLR Zermatt Silver, up close looks frosty like the Swiss alps.
Mercedes Calcite White, whiter than a Miny Milk.
McLaren Lantana Purple, deeply satisfying.

I had been seeing a few Range Rovers recently in their 'Byron Blue' colour, which caught me off guard as they are generally not a car im very bothered about but I have to say, in the low evening sun, they looked absolutely stunning.

So, wanted to make a thread about your favourite automotive car colours? Can be anything from history, mundane to the exotic, but lets say it has to be a paint colour and not make this a livery thread, no liveries allowed!

Just 'blue' - not any particular 'blue'?

Many years ago I had a boss that I hated, who ran a BMW 3 series in that colour.
To this day, I still passionately hate the colour, together with any car in close to that colour, and even the people driving them.
An irrational hate, but it's strange how a car colour can conjure such emotive feelings.

Some great colours...

2 for me always stood out,
Midnight Purple Skyline and Ford Electric Orange when it was first shown on the Focus St mk2, it looked amazing glinting in the sun at the showroom....just a shame I had to make do with sea greyfrown

I'm intrigued, how many have had their car painted in their favourite colour?
