Are Honda going to do a Toyota and have a limited production run ala GR Yaris / GR86?
I would think so based on recent past history with the FN2, FK2 and FK8 and not to mention the Mugen collaborations of the past, though those usually seem limited to the Japanese market. Koolkat969 said:

Three pipes in the centre works on a supercar (think 458 Italia) on a hot hatch, specifically a Honda, I`m not entirely convinced. Think I`d have a MK8 GTI over this, looks classier, has the heritage and would be a more attractive proposition on a day to day basis.
I agree. Never been a fan of the Three pipe set-up however, i understand the reasons behind it. I do prefer this FL5 shape to the FK2 and FK8 but i prefer the twin exhaust pipes set-up of the FK2.

They're more often than not an end of the line car if they're done by Honda so it won't be for a while. Depressingly Mugen seem to mostly make terrible body kits now with a few basic, massively overpriced bolt ons also in the catalogue. Their last car you could buy was the JDM only FD2 Mugen RR/UK only FN2 M20.
I agree. Usually an end of the line with quite a huge premium over standard that only ends up in the hands of collectors anyway and rarely to be seen out and about. As for Mugen, indeed their design can be quite peculiar and not to everyone's taste.

I second this, the twin exhaust set up just works, its also a cleaner more symmetrical look in my opinion, at least Honda is using `proper` pipes have you seen the god awful fake vents on new Audis saw an SQ5 the other day, looks okay but the fake exhaust ruins it for me.
To be fair, that would be the Milltek system on the back of that so most likely slightly wider than standard.RaineyDays said:

Neither of those cars are limited production runs. The UK's allocation of Yaris sold out for the foreseeable future - they're just selling them faster than they can build. The GR86 won't meet European safety regulations in a couple of years and they've sold as many as they can build.spikyone said:
Yes, all relative, and I very much prefer the FK8. The white one in the pics doesn't look special at all to my eyes, the blue one is a big improvement. Not a patch on the yellow Limited Edition FK8 though!
That is utterly, hideously, goppingly fugly.Looks, quite literally, like a gundam on wheels.
Looks brilliant IMO, huge improvement over the last one and all it’s fake vents. Interior looks the business to. Well done Honda
Hopefully they make enough so that you can actually order one at your dealer have it turn up in a reasonable amount of time and not have to pay £ks over the RRP, seems like a normal thing to ask but who knows in this bonkers world now.

I've probably posted this already but take the Citroen Ami from the 70s. Goppingly ugly yet now far more interesting than most forgettable contemporaries.
In twenty years time, the FK8 will be more notable for its excesses, like the Subarus and Evos. This is suave but probably forgettable.

It makes zero sense on a front engined car with a small inline 4 cylinder engine. It will just be a bit of exhaust trim bolted onto the single pipe that runs the length of the car.
