As someone who has put a deposit down on the new M2, this has actually put me off it. BMW, what are you doing!

I'm in my mid 40's so this isn't aimed at me and I can't imagine sticking stuff on my nice posh car to make it faster (or just look faster). That said... surely people see that they are showcasing ALL the stuff you can buy for the M2, and that almost noone is going to stick the lot on? I imagine the new car with one or two bits might look perfectly nice.

Someone compared a picture of the previous gen M2CS with this car, and sure this looks silly in comparison. But what would have been a better comparison is the M2 they kitted out to demo all the stick on stuff last time!

Amazing the proportion of comments on this site that are negative. Personally I like the look of the new car, the M2 has always had a brawler vibe and this version ups the ante.

Hmm, needs an old 14 inch portable telly in each of those square vents at the front.

It looks of but dont need it all, definitely going too close to Dogs Dinner with all of it.

Those parts make it even more horrendous than the hideous car underneath it all.

for us old people, if Tickford did a version of the M2 instead of the Capri, I'm sure it would look like this.......
I've always been a big fan of the Tickford Capri(it is marmite granted though). cool

This does seem quite OTT though...however I am getting on a bit now to be fair.
Has Simon Saunders got a sideline designing M-parts then Lee? hehe

This is how I used to make my cars look on Need for Speed when I was 12...

I'm sure they'll make loads of money off it so I doubt they care about these comments, just like the M4!
There lies the clue. Those of us who used to play Need For Speed underground when we were teenagers are now grown up adults and head of design at BMW. wink

Those M Performance badges looks so chavvy. I like some of the performance upgrades, I like the seats and I like some of the carbon fibre trim.

But the obsession with 'M Performance' everywhere, that gets applied to your average clapped out 320d, just puts me off.

I would says it's a dogs dinner... but I don't think that goes far enough...

I think the dogs brought up his dinner.

It’s a bit subtle. Needs more aggression.

I like that. Well the rear end at least. Those exhausts look great on the previous gen M4 as well.

Front remains challenging.

Like it or loathe it (with or without M add-ons), the M2 is no doubt going to be an absolute weapon.

Doesn't look any better in a different colour either. I'm sure when we've seen it a 1000 times on Pistonheads from the sponsored BMW marketing department, everyone will say they like it after all.

Already do, that looks epic. What’s wrong with the colour?

What is the market they're aiming at? I'd have thought being in my albeit late thirties I'd be their target market. That's hideous. Is this what the UK market actually wants and I'm so out of touch or are we stuck with another market driving this stick on form over function tat?
Social media 'influencers' who have barely hit puberty it seems.

I'm sure it will go like st off a shovel but by Christ, that has to be the worst looking new car on sale vomit

Oh look, most of all the comments are negative.. just like pretty much every article about anything new or ev or restomod Porsche. Change happens, for better or worse and for reasons we don’t always agree with.

The challenging looks of this have prompted me to liken them to those of the TR7 when it was first revealed.
Legend has it that designer Giorgetto Giugiaro said
‘My God! They’ve done the same to the other side as well !’
Sums it up for me…
