Personally I couldnt give a toss if people want to fly the flag of St George from their car window. Seems that quite of lot of the yoof are doing it, and why not? After all, they are (mostly) young.

We have a flagpole on our roof - on top of a castellated building - started by flying a Union Flag, when that got too tatty we replaced it with a St George's flag, only to be harangued by everybody assumng we were football fans - erm, no, we are just flying our country's flag - gave up in the end and now fly the Devon County flag

I am very chilled. After all, it's not me branding people flying flags from their cars as "pond life" / "yobs" / "thugs" etc.etc. I can quite happily live with it - it's not doing me any harm.
