Clio would be too hardcore as a road car for long journeys
A Caterham with no roof is hardcore. A clio is a small hatchback with all the mod cons, and just happens to have a bit of poke.

Nice job with the Evo though! Whats the insurance like?

Insurance on an Evo 8 at 21....?

Would be in the tens of thousands, surely?

Custard test Op?? laugh
With a couple of yrs NCB, insured for 5000 miles and grandparents as additional drivers. I think 10months on an Elephant policy would fall short of £2000 at 21.

Its not extreme enough to call for a custard test nono

Young plus expensive car doesn't always equal high premiums. I was messing around a couple of years ago and discovered that at the age of 22 I could insure a DB9 fully comp for less than a grand! 24 now.

I pay less than 1800 and the policy is in my name

Good work. I wish I'd had £15k to spend on a car at 21 - let alone afford to insure it.

How in the blue hell are you paying just 1800 on a 300bhp Evo with mods at 21.

I can see how. I was being quoted around that on Impreza WRXs recently and I'm 22. Assume the OP has a similar ncb to myself and lives in a more insurance-friendly area and/or has used specialist insurers.

£1800 on insurance? I'd rather buy and insure 2 cars for that! Lol...

Fair play, nice car. Be sensible.

I'm 23 and paying £1,360 on a Diablo so I can well believe this. Fine choice of car by the way.

Not in my experience. It's because they work while living at home with parents and have had cash from parents and take out finance.

Very well done if you have done it all yourself which allows you to run and afford a 911 turbo at 21. Most be one profitable business.

I've had nice cars since I was 21 Tuscan, Tamora, Chimaera and the Diablo and I work very hard two jobs for several years now one job and a business too. There are young people out there who work hard and no parents are going to buy their kids a nice car, it's always ste which is why I'd buy my own.
