There is some news from Bloodhound, sadly not of actual sponsorship.
They aim to make it "net carbon zero"

I was only wondering what happened to this project a few days ago. Last I heard they had done the higher speed testing in SA and had a new owner with funding, and just needed to strap a couple of rockets on to go for the record I thought?
!
The new owner fulfilled his promise of getting it to SA for high speed testing. !

They should flog it to Rosco McGlashan in Australia for cheap and let him have a go at getting it moving. Although maybe the restriction what they are allowed to do with the EJ200 might stop it from being run by a non-UK concern.
Given the EJ200 comes with the gift of support from Rolls Royce and the RAF, I don't think it's likely to travel abroad for another company to take control.Resorting to "buy a drive" either genius or bloody madness.

Made it into the BBC news. Now it has green credentials apparently

The Green credentials" were the previous attempt at getting funding......how did that go. They are all over the place with their marketing/publicity, apparently jumping on whatever bandwagon will pay, it's a pure vanity exercise now. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-673...

he seemed to skip what they are going to use instead of the Jag V8 to pump rocket fuel.
£12m and it runs.
Fairly straightforward to do it with an electric motor.£12m and it runs.

I recall they’d already swapped the Jag V8 for another, more modest engine before the planned switch to electric?
Jaguar were an initial sponsor, but that didn’t last until the SA shakedown so I think it had been replaced by then.
Other way round IIRC. Jaguar were an initial sponsor, but that didn’t last until the SA shakedown so I think it had been replaced by then.
The Jag engine replaced something else, possibly a Cosworth F1 engine.
Fundamentally any ICE unit is unsuitable, you have to get supersonic air in, slow it to manageable speeds, which heats it up, so you also have to cool it before the ICE gets to use it. Then you have the issues of dealing with exhaust gasses, so you are looking for the lowest pressure area in the under floor so perforate to have a suitable exhaust exit. Problem is these low pressure areas can move through the speed range.

Seems a transferrable skill
Bloodhound was on the end of Gogglebox last week, peoples reactions just about summed up the world's view on this project now, and their attitude towards pushing boundarys.
Largely "why bother", "what's the point" & "aren't there better things to spend £12m on".

Ah yes, those fine examples of human ingenuity and ceaseless endeavour... sitting on their arses in front of the TV passing judgement on people actually out doing something. You're probably right that it's reflective of most people's view... but that just shows what a sad, stupid world we're living in.

Skimmed it.This could be "quality journalism" by a Sun subeditor or not, either way Ron's got someone to punch in the chops.
