Excellent read this thread.

Just been handed a 'shed' this weekend - my old mans '06 Kangoo van! He was a decorator so paint all over the back doors, a wheel bearing on its way out and more lights on the dash than a christmas tree (ABS fault). 6 months ticket on it still, Engine running great tho and more fun to drive than my '12 Caddy Maxi Life!

Daughters had fun painting the plywood interior this weekend and Ive taxed/insured it. Do I shed it for the next few months or do i just move it on?
You're asking in the wrong place as I suspect the unanimous answer will quite rightly be to shed it for a while.

The air con not working is more annoying. Summer’s over now so not an issue today but it’s something I’ll have to consider fixing next year. I’ve been quoted 900 quid by a main dealer and my local mechanic has recommended a specialist to try as its outside his expertise. It’s a pity modern climate control systems don’t seem to be able to blow fresh cold air in from the outside like cars without air con used to, if it did that instead of blowing warm I could happily live without air con too ??.
Not saying they don't exist but in experience cars will blow ambient air if the a/c is off, even with climate control, if it's set to its lowest setting.

I have an issue with my old Merc where the right side is still tepid - it's only obvious if the air direction is set to face level vents only. It's a C Class and uses conventional air blending flaps so one of them is not working properly for some reason. On the Merc there is a flap reset procedure using the climate control buttons but that hasn't helped.

Yep, keep it and shed it.

Then you’ll invariably become attached to it and it’ll stay in your life until it launches its engine or gets nicked.

. Stuck some heated leathers in it for £140, 55mpg I've grown quite fond of it.
What route did you go down for the wiring for the seats? Kufatec looms?

I’ve just bought a b5.5 PD130 Passat as a winter/tip/bike car and it doesn’t have heated seats. There’s a full interior with the heated fronts available but wiring it up did concern me.

Clearly what you should do is swop all the running gear from a clio 182 into the kangoo smile

I actually already have one of those for bringing a touch of shed to my other car ( a 130i LE with no heated leather; criminal) I do like the idea of switching out the interior though. Whether that would mean it’s no longer classed as a shed, I wouldn’t like to say.

Now yer talking!

Nearly bought a mates Mini Cooper today having him being offered and accepted a £100 trade in against a 67 plate Mini. As soon as he said this to me this morning I immediately offered him £125. Bugger became curious why i'd pay more (eh '52 plate Cooper in good nick 127k on the clock with 9 months clean MOT - he'd paid nearly 1k to get it through the MOT!).

Couldn't play a mate - helped him advertise on Gumtree for significantly more and already got multiple bites..

Im.too nice!

My replacement coil pack for my mk2 Focus shed should be here today or tomorrow. I'm hoping it fixes it, and that the symptoms is not the dreaded windscreen washer water dripping into the plug.

I don’t actually know why I like his vlogs , think it’s the mental road trips in st cars that may or may not make it.

Me too... I think a lot of it is his personality - he's a likeable, interesting chap. He drives some interesting cars/vehicles (that used to be found everywhere 20 years ago, but you seldom see at all today), and visits some interesting places. I watch a few YouTube videos here and there, but his is the only channel for which I've switched on notifications smile

I quite like the CarThrottle videos where they have to buy/run a cheap car, and sell it for a profit afterwards.
