I new it was a Chevy by the lights but could i bugger remember the model, after a quick google i found it!
1962 Chevy Biscayne
The Biscayne was a lower spec, then the Bel Air, then the Impala at the top
That 2 door sedan bodystyle (as opposed to the hardtop, pillarless coupe) would only be available in the lower specs, but a 4 door sedan could be any of them

Quick story... Few years back I met up with a friend at his parents’ old farm and over a cup of tea with them, he told his Dad that I liked cars and he should show me his. I follow the old boy out to a scruffy looking barn, mentally preparing myself to sound enthusiastic about a faded MGA or at best a rusty Jag. Anyway, he pulls the doors open and there’s something low under a cover in the gloom. So he pulls the cover back to reveal a mint condition, gold, Ferrari. Surprised is not the word. I later looked it up and discovered it was a 365 GTC/4. Stunning thing, which he’d bought new when he’d ‘had a good year’ in the 1970s (farming must have been more profitable then).
Just shows, never judge a book by the cover...

My old boss went to stay with friends in Northern Ireland in the late 80's; on the way he said his Dad had just bought a new Lamborghini, and he'd probably let my boss drive it. When they got there, his mate pointed him towards the barn, and said that's where the Lamborghini was... and sure enough, there it was, a brand new Lamborghini...Anyway, he pulls the doors open and there’s something low under a cover in the gloom. The Fiat Tipo saloon. The new Tipo has been out a few years now, I had no idea there was a saloon. Can't imagine they're a good seller, the one I saw was on a Fiat forecourt rather than on the road.
Based on the same platform as the Chrysler 200C, so essentially a distant relation of the old Chrysler Neon.NigeT said:
Wow. That is proper grim. The 4 seat proportions are all wrong. Looks like a AC3000ME hen do limo stretch!I found the interior of the Argyll - looks like a stock Volvo 240 dash with a Triumph Dolomite steering wheel and column stalks. Any other bits we can spot?

Is the saloon even available in the UK?!
Surprised me really. Has to be said though, for a brand new, inoffensive, almost good looking car that seems fairly well equipped, it's not bad value. I would get one over a Dacia. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

ETA: there are 16 69 plate ones on AT, all being sold by the same dealer.
Looks quite nice in red I think:

If that spec list is correct (Bluetooth, DAB, cruise control, air conditioning), it does seem like you can get a lot for the price. It even has a six speed gearbox!https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
I'd have to compare it to a Logan MCV. Sometimes there is something appealing about getting the cheapest new car available and running it into the ground, but there are too many older cars that are getting rarer and interest me far more
