Doubt an LMP1 car could cope with all the corners. Also drivers often say the "windscreen" distorts your view.
Exactly this. Not so much the corners, as the (highly numerous) bumps, crests and dips. Would smash itself to bits...Take WRC dampers and springs appear to cope with shocking potholes bumps and massive jumps with ease.

Why do people think engineers cannot develop a damper to cope with any surfaces?

Agreed, of course the suspension technology is there. But it's not on the 'car in question', nor would that car lend itself to such suspension due to the required clearance/travel. I'm discussing the car in question, not cars generally Take WRC dampers and springs appear to cope with shocking potholes bumps and massive jumps with ease.

Considering the Subaru managed to cope no problem but lacked considerable straight line speed after 120mph compared to the bikes huge time/average speed is lost considering how much is WOT... not even sure it got over 160 much ....
Wonder what something like Mclaren 720s would be like on there?? not close to a bikes time i bet but be interesting considering its straight line pace is not a million miles off a superbike (sub 10s 1/4s) yet very compliant on the road (so ive read)

So the answer must be to simply put a bigger engine in the Subaru? thegreenhell said:
It's a stupid argument. Why do some people think that F1 and LMP cars can't handle bumps? How many times every lap, for lap after lap, do these cars run over some quite severe serrated curbs and bumps without exploding into a million pieces at every corner?
But those aren’t the same sort of curbs are they and those cars are designed to work on a flat race track or they don’t have any down force and the advantage of being an F1 car is lost. God how many times do we need to have the same discussion? Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
