They’re not air intakes at the front, they’re where your feet would poke out.

2000 HPE
Some nice post there, Crook.

Mate of mine had a HPE when we were in our late teens (insurance was a bit more affordable 30 odd years ago). It looked decent enough, had a lovely motor and was reasonably quick, but it was pretty st to drive. Rubbish driving position, heavy steering and abysmal handling are my abiding memories of it. It was only a few years old and already rusting.

I drove past Lanzante's new showroom this morning, they've a couple of McLaren F1 and a Silk Cut Jaguar XJR-9 in there. I need to see if I can have a proper nose round them, but I'm not sure they're all that friendly to visitors?

JC, If you get the chance, try one for size, then imagine having to drive it for hours at race speed.

Herr Bell, is not a small chap, they suffered for their art! smile
Until you're up close and personal you just can't tell how tiny they are-I mean look at the size of the steering wheel compared to the cockpit!

I think that photo of one driving on the autobahn years ago in traffic gives the best perspective.

Thanks, I was having a browse at what was available for not stupid money with a manual gearbox and would be fun to own.

Great posting chaps, do enjoy some of the Speedhunters articles and great photography, love a modded/restomod 240z too.

Popped along at lunchtime to London Concours did not take many pics but EB110 Supersport has aged well, also loved this Blizzard Bentley.

No pic but 288 GTO still does it for me cloud9

That 2002 is lovely, some impressive home engineering as well.

I went over too - was actually quite impressed with the selection of cars and the level of access you could have to see them close up. The event itself seemed pretty quiet and a good proportion of people there didn't even seem that interested in the cars TBH!

Highlights for me were the chance to see a couple of 288GTOs which I think is now the top of my lottery list closely followed by the F40LM!

Was also great to see the McLaren F1 XP5 and a line of 7 Murias!

Agree with that, most people there were getting stuck into a nice lunch !

The line of Muiras was a great sight, as was the F1, the 250 Lusso... What does shock is by comparison how big modern cars have become though, which we have done to death on here so i'll shut up now.

I took my brother-in-law to OPC Colchester to pick up his 991GT3 a couple of years back... when I looked across the car park from the showroom I was struck by 1) how tiny the 996 looked vs the Cayman and Boxster it was parked between and 2) how tiny the wheels looked von mine s the 20" things on everything else.
