Wrong.
Of course I’m not wrong. It was a st car in every conceivable way.

Everything that made the Integrale legendary makes the Cossie a pile of failed wk.

:scratchin:

A pile of failed wk is a notion one could discuss for longer that would be healthy.

I love the Delta in theory. Much like a 20v Quattro. On paper and on screen they are wonderful but not sure I could stomach either as an ownership proposition. They're what I refer to as cars that are nice for other people to own. I actually don't even know anyone who has had an UR. Not much short of a lottery win would see either on the fleet (in fairness the same goes for all others of that ilk but those two in particular have all the hallmarks of a trying time.

That memo clearly never reached the factory.
Ok let me put it another way, those who specced their Daytonas with wires over one of the best looking alloys ever made should have been shot.

Only Ford Cosworth worthy of note or lust worthy are of the 3 door Sierra variety, the Sapphire and Escort are just meh.

Drove most of the rally reps from late 80’s to late 90’s - at the time I was a huge rally fan and was lucky enough to have friends with Cossies, Quattros, imprezas etc.

IMO, Cossies only really worked if they had a few mods, and I only liked the 2wd versions. With c.300bhp they were great fun though... very sideways.

My favourite of that genre was the series McRae Impreza I had as a company car from early 96 to 98. Early cars were a lot softer than the later cars, and had sensible wheels/tyres. It was the best B road car I’ve ever driven - you could simply ignore pot holes, surface changes and odd cambers. So compliant. And they were utterly brilliant in the snow... I lived in Derbyshire back then, and would set my alarm for 4am if there was snow forecast so I could go out and have a play before everything clogged up with traffic.

I'd say the alloys have it.

Wires for me please, i think the Daytona is the crossover car in terms of wires to solid wheels, although the 365 GTC doesn't look bad on them.

Never really liked the SD1, its ok but it just doesn't have the subtle femininity mixed with muscular detail of the Daytona. Other than the angled lights, i dont really get the comparison.

That was sort of where I was but the image of the grey Spyder on alloys looks cloud9

My tongue was firmly in my cheek when I posted that SD1 due to the comments when it was new. I'd love one, but then my Uncle had a late bright red Vitesse when I was 5 or 6 that left a last impression on me.

I'm not a massive fan of the Daytona though, there are few Donkeys that I like in all honesty. It sounds wrong even as I type it, there have been the odd exception over the years though. Maybe I need to drive one as they're one of the manufacturers I've not had a spin behind the wheel of

From what I’ve read, daytona’s are better to look at than drive.
