From what I’ve read, daytona’s are better to look at than drive.

Not a problem for me as I don’t fit in a Muira. But I’d still buy one with a big lottery win... so I could just stare at it cloud9

There was a good article about them in I only buy cars that someone has told me I should Monthly and they interviewed a few owners. The consensus ( unsurprisingly) was physial but rewarding.

Also if Dan "at no time did we exceed 175mph" Gurney is happy to buzz one from sea to shining sea in about 35 hours or so with Brock Yates, then that's a good enough testimony for their drivability.

I'll take alloys on my coupe and wires on my soft top, thanks.
That was sort of where I was but the image of the grey Spyder on alloys looks cloud9

This is what really did it for me with the wires. Profile, ride height, sidewall, wires.

Whilst we are (were) on the subject of old Ferraris.......

Patience really is a virtue – over the last six decades, one man has been dreaming of building his very own Ferrari Grand Tourer in tribute to the prolific 20th Century designer Giovanni Michelotti. Now, the dream has finally become a reality. Say ciao to the Ferrari 330 GT Special. If at first, you don't succeed

Drove most of the rally reps from late 80’s to late 90’s - at the time I was a huge rally fan and was lucky enough to have friends with Cossies, Quattros, imprezas etc.

IMO, Cossies only really worked if they had a few mods,.
And ime Integrales only worked for about 5 minutes at a time smile

It was the car that finally turned my Italian car fan mate off Italian cars hehe

No doubt a Friday afternoon car but never known anything go wrong as much as that

Maybe I’ve been lucky but I’ve had my Integrale for 3-4 years and despite not being used for weeks at a time it’s never let me down. Even when we drove through massive floods and tried to drown the engine it’s just relentlessly kept on going. Very un-Italian of it really!!

ETA: this was the day of the attempted drowning!!

This one was in the service area of OPC Guildford when I attended the 997GTS launch some years ago...

Some proper stuff there on the night... 917, 935, GT1, 908, 550 Spyder.

Oh, and these 2... telling the story of the 917's development from a terrifyingly unstable rocket in to a race winner, Porsche's 1st top class Le Mans win, and the making of the film 'Le Mans'.

Awesome night out.

It was, particularly if you were a Porsche fan... though the C9 is one of my absolute favorites.

But most of the cars from that era just look 'right', and also look a proper handful to drive with no driver aids, stupid amounts of power and rubbish tyres biggrin
