I have search pages for 'Mercedes, automatic, petrol, over 10 years' on Usedcarsni & Gumtree, 'Mercedes W124' on CarandClassic, 'cars for sale' on Mercedes-190.co.uk & Retrorides, 'vintage & classic cars - mercedes' on Donedeal.ie all permanently open on separate tabs on my desktop and ipad - and I check them all every single day, even when I'm actively trying to sell cars.
What sort of obsession is that?
I'm going to try to turn them all of now though - except for the occasional peek, just for old times sake.

CL600 bi turbo M275.
More reliable and much much more performance than those earlier cars.
I know both are sold but just wanted to show that they are out there within thread budget.

S124 arrived this afternoon - and it seems pretty lovely.
Being a 12v diesel, it's a slow old thing, but it is perfect for wafting around in - feels solid and well built, and no issues yet. Electric aerial and sunroof both surprisingly fully operational!

You guys are making me itch to sell the Defender I've had for the past 8 years (that's been my baby and long term project and something I'd never sell) and get an r129 SL500 to replace it...
Gits.
Keep the defender and get a cheaper 500SL. Gits.
They are great machines, I can't wait to get mine back and get the roof down!

That's good of you - but best leave it as it is!

Sorta like a Merc detox.........I'll give it a week, then back to your old self!I have search pages for 'Mercedes, automatic, petrol, over 10 years' on Usedcarsni & Gumtree, 'Mercedes W124' on CarandClassic, 'cars for sale' on Mercedes-190.co.uk & Retrorides, 'vintage & classic cars - mercedes' on Donedeal.ie all permanently open on separate tabs on my desktop and ipad - and I check them all every single day, even when I'm actively trying to sell cars.

Can't have a 5th vehicle between 2 of us and would need the funds from the Defender to get the SL. They are great machines, I can't wait to get mine back and get the roof down!
We hardly use the Defender to be honest and though I love driving it I can't justify keeping it. It was built as a camper and is pretty well kitted out for that kind of activity but unfortunately the new Mrs LostKiwi isn't a camping fan so its only done 1000 miles since the last MOT.
I have a little economical two seated I use for work so the r129 would only really be used for winter when the Roadster is just not fit for purpose and for summer outings and probably our annual French holiday.
I also have Saab93 bought as a winter car but that's going as soon as I can get it sorted - to say its been troublesome is an understatement.
Well...after nearly 4 years of struggling I've finally got the C124 300 back with everything working. The last thing was to get the ASD working properly and have one of the hydraulic pipes to it (which was leaking) replaced.
I picked it back up from the garage yesterday (with the help of someone who goes on PH!) and gave it a wash this morning as it was looking a little grubby.
Now here's the thing...I've decided that I'm probably going to swap it for a BMW E34 that I used to own!

I thought the nearest guess on your estate won it .I picked it back up from the garage yesterday (with the help of someone who goes on PH!) and gave it a wash this morning as it was looking a little grubby.

Looks absolutely lovely, although white wouldn't be my choice of a 124 that contrasting sacco is most delectable.
Just to fire off your OCD, the bumper in that first shot looks like it isn't quite hanging straight...
Yeah, I noticed that just after I took the pic! Just to fire off your OCD, the bumper in that first shot looks like it isn't quite hanging straight...
Might see if I can adjust.
The thing is the car already had new front wings put on before I bought it and I think they're "pattern" ones unlike the ones on the green estate. So, a few of the shut lines are a little out at the front.
I'll see if I can make the bumper sit better though.
