Caffeine and Machine looks interesting, and not too far from me... idea

I don't really know much (anything) about it. Is it an interesting "car place" to go when there's not a meet on? Might have to swing by if so one weekend, as I'm often Leamington way, and this isn't too much further on.

I went to Caffeine & Machine last week, it really is a 'must visit' place for anyone on this thread. Great atmosphere, really good food, fantastic coffee and always nice metal in the car park.

Good thing about it is, you can just pop along by yourself. You know that everyone there shares the same interests and I got into chats with about 5 different people. Genuinely a brilliant, brilliant place and I wish it all the success in the world.

(Not my Abarth, was a press car)

Sorry to be rather negative, but I'm sure I'd much prefer to drive it than to look at it.

Surely, it can't just be me, but I can't think of a single Zagato 'styled' car that looks anything but utterly hideous! boxedin

They're interesting looks but I love these and the Alfa Junior Zagato - I look at some of the old Lancias/Ferraris that people swoon over and they do nothing for me looks-wise.

I'd buy one of these with a lottery win before any modern supercar but we all like different stuff.. Enough performance to be fun and I always remember the Performance Car 'Best Car of the Year' review where the writer said the E30 M3 Sport Evo was holding him up through the bends on track.
To see one unexpectedly on your favourite cross-country B-road is a treat for me

Absolutely SM yes

Zagatos are very Marmite and I can certainly see why they divide opinion but I absolutely love them and a Junior Zagato is one of my all time favourites.....one day

Ahem.

And I’ve always had a bit of a thing about Alfa SZ’s. I can definitely see that it’s not to everybody’s taste but I like it.

I guess to drive it’s just like an alfa 75 3.0 so pretty good?

Wow. Looks awesome. I’m not sure what their business model is to make money but it looks like a fab place! Great idea for thread meet-up - pretty central for most folks?

Based on the GrA 75 chassis so should be pretty bloody good.

I seem to remember Jeremy Clarkson driving one when they were new and commenting that he had never driven anything that went round roundabouts quite like it. I may be misquoting but it's early and I need more coffee.

Safe to say they divide opinion!

Always loved the SZ myself but not to the point of wanting to own one enough. Definitely on the list but not high enough up at the point they were relatively affordable.

It got more votes than the much-vaunted E30 M3 in PCOTY 1990 - voted 2nd to the the M3s fifth
Clarkson was on the panel

A bit - they're very good cars. I've done a lot more miles (~50k now, over the last 20 years) in my RZ, the convertible version. Mechanically identical, the RZ is obviously less stiff than the SZ, but still more than capable enough to be a load of fun. And an even more difficult shape to love. biggrin

Help. What's wrong with me? I used to hate these, but am I just old now? My saved "V8, manual" search threw up this, and I am actually quite tempted. Even though it would probably ruin me... Has my 1 beer gone to my head??!!

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Maybe it's because I've been after something V6/8 and manual for so long that my standards/taste has slipped?
