Help. What's wrong with me? I used to hate these, but am I just old now? My saved "V8, manual" search threw up this, and I am actually quite tempted. Even though it would probably ruin me... Has my 1 beer gone to my head??!!

Maybe it's because I've been after something V6/8 and manual for so long that my standards/taste has slipped?
That looks pretty amazing value. I am intrigued to see what a manual Cayenne would be like.

That meet looks great, bit of a trek from south. Porsche have another meet at Bicester on the 7th December I think, weather hopefully holds.

That Cayenne is ludicrous bang for buck, and a nice colour as well.

Rocket.

A bit - they're very good cars. I've done a lot more miles (~50k now, over the last 20 years) in my RZ, the convertible version. Mechanically identical, the RZ is obviously less stiff than the SZ, but still more than capable enough to be a load of fun. And an even more difficult shape to love. biggrin

I've driven a manual Cayenne S from that era. They're ok, but in my mind a big 4x4 should be an auto as it suits the type of vehicle better. You're not really going to hustle one down your favourite b road as they're too big and bulky, so may as well go the slush box route with it

I had a drive of this on Saturday. thumbup

Fabulous classic driving experience with the benefits of updated oily bits. 260bhp from a 4.2 litre Jaguar straight six, 1000Kg and an exhaust note to die for.

Want (if only for Goodwood Revival). smile

C Type or short nose D Type rep for an early morning blast to The Revival is right near the top of my Bucket List.

My first experience of an Elise was at an icy Croft in a pretty standard S1 in the late 90s. The thing that surprised me most was how understeery it was. Otherwise it was really enjoyable and l, despite only having very low power, it flowed really nicely if you gelled with it.

That's what I'm guessing would be my finding too.

Did you used to deal with Merc leasing? I have been asked by someone I know about a few buying tips and was wondering whether you think Mercedes is good to go to directly for competitive leases (24 months) or whether there are better offers out there from other firms.

It wasn't the slickest of boxes to be honest, Porsche made us take one as a demo which was nice of them laugh

I'm still at MB, although on the lcv side of things now. The best deal is done by the dealer group that's the hungriest for units, PM me you're looking for, when you want it along with term and miles and I'll get one of the car guys to run some figures off for you smile

Looks like it might be good value for money, mechanical refresh and leave the patina. Although I'd be tempted to have it on airbags....

Either that or it'll be a total money pit
