If anyone is still thinking Wiesmann's business model is the one to go for, they've just filed for bankruptcy.
It depends. Get it bought off the administrators and ship it to the UK and fit a TVResque shell. In reality firms tend to fold either because of low revenue or high debt. A quick look at their books would reveal if the business is flawed because of the product or level of debt servicing.

That may be easier said than done. It may be that 90% of the firms debts are to the owners who will therefore be able to buy the company back at a higher price than anyone else, announce various joint ventures, talk about windfarms and refuse to sell for years to come.TA14 said:

What news of Les Edgar and the rebirth of TVR. What will the cars look like? Where will they be built and by whom? The famous TVR DNA is based in Blackpool, with many offshoots around the country now. Lets hope the intellectual rights don't just gather dust as they did after Smollenski comprehensively destroyed the company.

My 50p says lack of sales, pure and simple. It's difficult to see why they would have taken on recent heavy debt and rates are presumably still modest for them.IMO it's very, very difficult for any of the specialist builders of modern vehicles to sell enough cars. Mainstream stuff at £50k-£70k is just so good these days. Initial flurry of sales to the hardcore "want to be different" community and then a gaping hole in the order book.

Hmmm. A company founded in 1988... 25 years is one hell of an initial flurry of sales. Edited by JonRB on Friday 16th August 22:51

just chill. I've heard (not sure how reliable) that there is planned to be a new car in 2015. Yeah it's going to be a long and calculated process I would think, and given Les' obvious caution to release anything unless he's sure it will go down well, I suspect we won't hear anything for a long while yet, probably when the car is fairly well developed. I'd say it is the right way to do it, I just hope he embraces the owners and the car club once he's ready - I think this was a big failing of moleskins; the TVR circle is a powerful thing, and can either be a great help or a great hindrance to the factory - you have to keep them on side as sadly they won't help unless they approve and accept the owner - even if it means hurting the company. Hopefully les realised this as he seems pretty good at relations.

Hmmm. A new Lotus Esprit has been due every year for more than a decade so don't hold your breath waiting for a TVR! Launching any sports car in the £50k-£80k range would IMO be suicidal right now with brand new global V8 sportscars from Jaguar and Corvette plus the latest Porsches. All of these cars are very well engineered, mass produced and relatively well priced. Ozzie Osmond said:

and not having heard anything in 2 months doesn't mean anything!
Exactly. I was hoping on their website that they would show some peek at what 'might' be happening in the future.Hopefully we dont just see that splash screen for the next five years!
