That's ridiculous. Six years ago I sold a 45k example for half that amount! (and it was mint condition)

The issue with these is:

-They are a boy racer's car to most people who are not into cars
-There is no real nostalgia behind them
-While they are fun and superb they do lack a little character.

And yes, I owned a 172. I enjoyed it that much that I considered mothballing it considering it was a low mileage example.

BUT, my Series 1 RS Turbo was more fun. Even firing it up was an event, and it was great to just burble along in it. I hate to say but despite it being flawed I preferred it in a number of ways to my 944 Turbo. Wherever I went, be it work, the petrol station or car shows alot of people asked about the car, women, men, you name it. It was a car of a generation, like a few of these 80s cars.

As for restoring one for less, try it wink. Most Fast Fords are now ringers IME and alot of the parts are not made or available, driving the prices one way. That caught me out quite a bit.

That said, I did sell it. Partially due to the market, but also it's nice to not be looking over your shoulder to see if the car is still around.

A 58,000 mile immaculate, but modified / non-original Puma in a group I'm a member of, being advertised for £3,000 and the poster angrily deleting any comments from people suggesting it is overpriced.

To put that into context, in the same group someone is selling a very clean and tidy 74,000 miler with a short MOT and a slipping clutch for just £250.

The boom in "classic" performance Ford prices hasn't trickled down to the Puma yet, and I can't believe anyone would gamble £3,000 that it will any time soon. And for a non-original car as well.

Like that very much and agree it's very rare, but £10 900?
It is a lovely thing, I agree and the price has come down a lot. It was £16k a few months ago!

Audi S3 (8P) facelift prices are still £14k+ and some are 7+ years old now. The balck editions are 18k+ which is just ridiculous for a 6-7 year old A3 frown

People are naturally able to ask whatever price they wish when they sell their vehicle. But 10,000 for a clown's polo with 180k on is either sheer greed or otherwise the vendor is a heavy crack cocaine smoker.

Surely it had to be a typo and should be £1,000?

Even that would be chancing it for a 180k mile polo with rusty floors.

crazy money for something with 180,000miles. I mean how rare/sought after are they? not much.
