Wrong thread. Spacing, and it's presumably meant to say "BEN" only it doesn't.

It's an Abarth. I have a picture for the next SS update
Wood that be a Fiat 500 Abarth ?
As in not cheap so rarely sawn?
Or a Fiat 500C Abarth 695 Rivale ?

No, I think Fiat 500 is probably enough for this number plate thread.

Can someone with more knowledge than me tell me what the addon charges are for the DVLA auctions historically since '89?

At the moment it's Hammerprice + 8% buyers premium + VAT + £80 assignment fee. I know over time the VAT has changed, but has the buyers premium?

In 2010 it was slightly different. Don't know when it changed though

I don't know the individual charges for auctions but in total last year alone DVLA sold 404,000 registrations generating £116 million which in total makes 5.9 million sold since 1989 generating approximately £2 billion for the treasury, the highest singular been £400,000 for "25 O" in Nov 2014 purchased by John Collins who has it on his Ferrari 250GTO once owned by Eric Clapton. nerd

5 years ago I was all pleased with myself for getting the plate “W4AFT” for my Citroen C6. I came on here all excited, expecting praise and adulation, and was told it had a 4 in it, didn’t really say waft, so was a fail. I took it hard. Hopes and dreams crushed. W4AFT as yet is still not on a vehicle.

But now I’m back with a plate on my new (very old) wheels that takes no liberties with lettering , is correctly spaced, is a perfect (literal) fit for the car ... and I want my redemption arc complete damn it.

I'll ask. What did you pay for it? Sold in '90 for £1600 plus fees. Mind you.... Year before someone got auction fever and paid £11K plus fees for 560 SECeek

I'm not usually a model plate fan, but in the case of classics I'll make an exception. Very nice plateyes

Still have the C6?

Came with the car - which was an absolute bargain at 6k, sold by a chap living in the US now who would like it to go to a good home...

The C6 was i'm afraid, one that lived entirely up to its stereotype. It had a lovely ride, it looked cool, it broke down a lot and the bills were horrific. It went less than a year into ownership.....

Great plate and a result that it came with the car.

Would look better spaced correctly and on a rectangular plate.

However, regardless of whether it is supposed to read Ben or not, it’s a great number IMO.
