Okay Lovely Thread followers - serious stuff now.
What would you have from the C&C collection above? For the avoidance of doubt you cannot deviate from the C&C list and go your own way with imaginary £10k purchases.
I'd have the TVR.
Well, I'm 6' 4", so all I can say is I know I fit in an MGB and the 325; other than that I'd cheerfully have any of them height permitting... except the Moggie (unless it's a Fiat twin cam or V8 one ).What would you have from the C&C collection above? I've a soft spot for the Montego as well (and elderly neighbour many year ago had a white, Turbo, one). As for the C&C list? Tough to choose between the MG (though I'd spend a bit extra and swap those wheels for wires to go with the chrome bumper), TVR, VX220 and the Sunbeam Alpine. Probably the Alpine though as I can only see the prices of those going up well beyond what I could ever afford.
Slightly over budget, but much nicer than the Montego everyone's salivating over. Wonderful colour.

Couldn't agree more, who the hell would want that Montego? They were **** when they were new, let alone a few decades on! This however is a proper car in a great colour.http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C843947

XJS Lynx cabrio. Decent number plate, looks in good nick.
The cabrio was always a little ungainly but it's an interesting car and has the right number of cylinders.

'Selling due to old age and failing health.' That must be very upsetting having owned the car for 24 years. Good on him though for recognising this, unlike many older people with ill health (though I know why a lot of them continue on).The cabrio was always a little ungainly but it's an interesting car and has the right number of cylinders.

I rather like that, but I fear it would bankrupt me in fuel alone.

I like it too. Interesting car. Doing somewhere in the region of 3-5k a year for leisure and posing would still keep it a cheap hobby. A couple of big jobs or difficult services are the things to worry about, not petrol.
