White divides opinions, but I rather like it here. A red or green interior would be my preference though.
Looks a decent car, although the price is approaching derin-esque.
This looks minty and awesome.

Tonight I am driving this. It's a 300 CE-24. Impressions? It's not that fast; and I prefer my estate car. I'm driving it to see whether I really want a coupé and I think the answer might be 'no'.
All is not well with it, either. In traffic, the temperature gauge heads north of 100 deg C, fast. Yet the radiator fan seems to turn and the coolant level is fine. I have ordered a fan clutch but I think it maybe needs a new radiator. And the (five speed auto) gearbox is well clunky. Something is up there. And the fuel gauge has a mind of its own. It belongs to a friend of mine and it irritates me that he has allowed niggling faults to remain unattended to.
And I had to wash and polish the thing, top up all the fluids and hoover it out. Some people.

I've been comprehensively outbid on the 350 SE I was obsessing over today. Thank goodness.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1979-MERCEDES-450-SEL-AU...

As for the screw thing to hold the spare wheel, there are two different types. A1248900814 to hold a steel wheel and A1248900914 to hold an alloy wheel. Astonishingly, these are £28 and £24 respectively at the dealer.
This cheeky chappie wants £32 for the steel wheel type! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-Benz-W124-T-Est...

Right you lot, I need help.
Been offered what looks to be a very clean, sub 80k W210 E240 for circa £1k.
FSH blah blah blah
Gold idea? Sounds like it to me but I know nothing about these apart from the fact they rust faster than they go
Pros - should be very reliable. It's a strong engine and box. Very comfy. Been offered what looks to be a very clean, sub 80k W210 E240 for circa £1k.

Cons - fairly slow and uneconomical, esp the earlier 240. Rust.
Check front subframe in particular, it's hidden by the undertray.

Looks ace, doesn't it. It's 199 blue/black metallic.
Could be a propshaft coupling but it feels more like a problem with the shift modulation.
When does it clunk? My experience is propshaft clunks tend to happen when lifting off the throttle, especially abruptly.Could be a propshaft coupling but it feels more like a problem with the shift modulation.
Resetting the modulator pressure solved a hard upshift i had (4 speed).

Likewise the hot running. I noticed straight away that it was over temperature but my friend has never noticed at all. Does he not look at the instruments? Goodness knows how long it has been like that and what damage has been done. As I say, I ordered a fan clutch but I am thinking it may be the radiator. SKS Car Parts, whom I recommend without hesitation, do a Behr Hella replacement for £110. The Merc item is £600. Guess who makes them for Merc?

Re the overheating, it always surprises me how the red section of the dial is over 120, given that I know mine did a little stuttering at 95 or so in 42 degree traffic. (to which the only response was to crank the heater and bring it down, which was pleasant.)
