Can't stop laughing at that. What the actual?!

"Bullet holes in boot" listed just between "pads and disks" and "wonky glovebox" as if it is a case of "oh, they all do that, sir."
'some damage/bullet holes' is one of the best descriptions I've ever seen on a used car advert

Always fancied a W8. My spidey-senses suggest this one may have had a hard life though.
Barn find eh? What kind of barn? The kind Gustavo Fring might own I'd wager.

In theory, would the W8 fit in a Sharan?

That would be a laugh...

If you did get that back on the road, you would have to leave the boot as is. Never again would you hear the noise of a horn aimed in your direction and the threat of road rage would be a thing of the past!

I have no reason, at all, to sell my 06 Honda Civic, which does everything I need it to and has a FSH and low miles. So after becoming addicted to this thread, it i s for sale, and if it goes, which if these would be the least painful, setting aside neither may be available, and both happen to have LPG, which brings its own complications:

XK8

W126 of loveliness, but the wife can be sold on the Jag, not necessarily this

None of you are allowed to buy them mind!

Welcome!

I really like that W126 - imagine how pleasant it will be in the back. Buy it first and ask for forgiveness later!

I love an XK, but the idea of LPG-ing one really bothers me, and placing the rubber stopper thing where they have is a crime against all that this thread holds dear, so for that reason it's got to be the 126.

As 0a says, just buy it and then deal with the consequences - it's the thread way!

I love the X100 XK. It's still the sexiest sports coupe going. I wish, wish, wish they had just done a manual version though. I love automatics, and they have a place, but that generation of Jaguar auto is nothing to write home about and it'd make for a better car to have a manual.

I couldn't feel much want for a manual Jaguar. I know some swear by them, but it goes against the whole bargey-but-sporty-but-bargey ethos for me.

In an every day car, it's fine. I don't mind wafting through a little city traffic in my XJ8. The auto is nice when you're in that traffic rhythm between spots of higher speeds and slower speeds, like going from city centre to suburbs via a couple of busy dual carriageways. If you must, there is always the J-gate for locking out the gears you don't want.

I wouldn't want a manual XK for the pleasure of shifting, I've never known a manual Jaguar box be described as a pleasure to shift. But if you're looking to explore their sporty side - and it's there alright, look at the tyres - it would be so much better. I'm thinking of the sort of thing the XK was meant to be doing when it was dreamed up. Taking you and the missus to the Lake District in comfort, easily blowing down the motorway but being taut and response and really fking sexy when you head off the long straight roads. I'd just more at home with a manual shifter there, particularly in N/A engines that deliver at the top end of the rev range. That automatic box is the one detail that remains incongruous in the XK. I can see why they offered it, because Penny doesn't want to chip her nails driving through Kensington and Teddy's legs have grown weak since golf became his main form of exercise...

Break out the Gtechniq and this would look so crisp and refreshing.

I can hear the sound of the doors shutting now... "thunk". Audis from this generation were just so well built compared to the soft-touch rubbish they pump out now.

I've sort of lost track of what we have and haven't seen here, but this is a nice early W124. Decent colour. Low mileage, but embarrassing plate.

Some of them must have actually been issued new with Northern Irish BNZ plates though
