I had a 613-4i for a few years a while back. Surprisingly good car, decent amount of pace and huge fun to drive. Mine was LHD but one of the last, with a 5-speed box and AC (non-working of course). You can upgrade the engine to T700 4.3 litre spec for more go, but it was allegedly 220bhp already, not bad for a 3.5-litre saloon of the day. Mine was a bit scruffy and I never had the skills or money to get on top of it, but I'd very happily have a good one again. How many other cars can you say have a rear-mid mounted, quad-cam, hemi-headed, all alloy, air-cooled V8?

I saw you in it once, at the tram museum at Crich, driving along the cobbles mixing it with the East German tram and all the Trabbies smile

There would be a lot less complaining about having your door dented in the car park if car design went down that route. Also looks a lot cooler.

It wasn't an uncommon arrangement in the thirties, I've seen several Derby Bentleys with parallel doors, then there's vans of course.

Aerodynamically maybe it's best to drive it backwards?

I’m guessing many on PH will be familiar with the relatively rare Venturi, aka ‘the French Ferrari’ (the Atlantique 300 looks very like the F355). However, came across this model in the classifieds which was new to me: the Venturi Transcup 260 Coup, of which only 17 were built.

Not me! I was going to take it to the Red October day at Crich but it was off the road at that time (spent a couple of spells waiting for parts to arrive - a windscreen took some finding, and brake discs came from Denmark with a 613-owning Dane who was driving here on holiday). I went in the Bristol instead on that occasion, claimed I could have been a British diplomat in 1970s Budapest.

Crich is a good day out though, been with the kids several times.

The Atlantique 300 Biturbo is even rarer: only 13 produced of which only 3 RHD versions ever made it over here.
Only 2 remain now: the third one has been taken/sold overseas.

Had one in the early 80's.

I remember it causing a bit of trouble in the playground! - All though mine was white and very popular at playtime.

Thanks, like the vid. That blue one is currently for sale, as are a silver 300 (which claims to be one of 12 UK cars of a total run of 53) and a black 300 biturbo (which claims to be one of 7 UK cars).

Do like the blue one though, beautiful. But then rather wonder what you do for servicing and parts...

The beginning and end location is at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire.

Most/all of the driving is in the Peak District.

All 3 are on Car & Classic. The black one is not a Biturbo (and doesn't claim to be in the ad).
Proof in this thread (with pic) - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
The silver one is also the single turbo version.

The blue one features in this thread - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
Which confirms the original total of 12 imported RHD cars: 9 single turbo and 3 Biturbo. Rather less now.

You take a little trip to Nantes and see Tony Boulet.smile
