I've seen a Bristol in the flesh and they are hilariously awful. Like an 80's Soviet era attempt at manufacturing a Bentley.

It looks like a Capri with a bodykit!
It's one I've never quite understood the PH love for. A poorly-build oddity that appeals to a small number of people.
+1 - none of them are at all attractive to me, all (without exception) fugly as hell. Different strokes...

The earlier Fraser-Nash/BMW-licenced Bristols were lovely. The later stuff though, not a fan.

i think they look totally st too, and they really do have (very) niche appeal but the people they do appeal to absolutely love them... is it something about solid quality and old school nature... and not going with 'the grain'?

This three seat 1966 Ferrari 365 P. I knew that there was one built for Agnelli, but only learnt of this predecessor today.

I think so, yes and also the 411s and 412s were actually very competitive in terms of performance/handling and so on back in their day. Unfortunately during the 1980s and 90s, they just got left behind the competition. Something appealing about an old school Chrysler V8 in a sober suited 2 door handbuilt body too. I think the 411 used the same basic engine (383 cu in) that went in the old 1970s Dodge and Plymouth muscle cars. I might be wrong though.

maybe at some point back in the day they were seen as the drivers' car option for those in the kind of RR/Bentley type market...

Bristol Brigand TURBO

Check out the boost controller...doesn't look like a Barry boy Halfords special at all, does it?

The car itself is almost stealthy in its understatedness.
That is not an original part.

I don't know why, but "Boost Retard" sounds like a great name for a band...

Or the mythical missing Fall track only available on a flexi with a withdrawn limited edition of NME. Boost retard-uh.
(few phrases cannot be turned into one of them by the addition of Mark E smith's vocal tic smile )

surely 0 is the only viable setting for retarding boost... maybe this is me misunderstanding bristols again!

Suddenly, the existence of the 2 Series Active Tourer makes sense.

It’s clearly aftermarket (I mean, it’s even branded MSD), and it’s also obviously a way of retarding ignition timing in relation to boost.

Has to be used in conjunction with the "less positive reduced more negative -1(acceleration)" pedal.

It does look poor, but nothing wrong with blutac or double sided to fix it, you'd have to be crazy to screw it into the walnut.

Colour me crazy then biggrin - no Blutac in any of my cars, ever, disgusting stuff. It looks like a redundant cigarette lighter next to it, the work of an hour to swap that out, & reversible too.

Now that would be a proper job, fix it behind, extend the shaft through the hole and fix knob flush on front, it might fit through anyway, no extension.
