WTF?!? IS this for real?
There goes my 63 idea for the forseeable....
Isn't that just the raping the original buyer receives and it gets progressively more reasonable each year, to a point? There goes my 63 idea for the forseeable....
My whole car stands me at less than that disc.

That seems to be ridiculous value. Perfect car for a south American dictator.http://www.southbournegarage.co.uk/used-cars/merce...

It must be a pretty late car in this body as i didn't even know you could get a twin turbo V12 in that body style.
Considering what people pay nowadays for white good cars these could be an impressive way to one up the boss at the office whilst paying less than all the delusional diesel drivers paying for new cars for their 3 mile commute.
There was a 1 lady owner early S500 at under £6k with only 28k miles on as well on autotrader yesterday.
Although the dealer claims total specification, that is a rare Merc V12 because it doesn't have a single option box ticked. Luckily the V12 had a reasonably generous spec to begin with.
The M275 engine has to be experienced to be believed. Absolutely relentless.
The yet to be implemented ved changes will make all cars a flat rate of £140 per year, unless their list price puts them in a category that requires years 2-5 to be topped up to circa £500
For the purposes of this thread, post 2017 bargain barges will cost considerably less in ved than say a 2008 model with a big engine. I really fancy a c6 rs6 but they're always going to be £500+ a year....

That SL is cheap. Underbonnet insulation is a 60 quid DIY job. Shame is isn't earlier in the year as that would be inexpensive summer fun.I know this isn't a premium brand, and I know it is not in the UK but bear with me.
How about this? A 2003 Ford Fairmont Ghia from Australia.
"A what!" I hear you all cry in unison "How dare you post a Ford in here!"
"It is white, and looks dull!" you all continue.
However:
Yes, a 5.4 litre V8 - 295 bhp (it is an American engine remember) and 470Nm of torque. Apparently good for 0 to 60 in low 7 seconds, with lots of tyre squeal thanks to no LSD.
It's a Ghia, so will be nice and wafty, and for only $6,890 (so just under 3,500 quid) it is a bargain (in Aus terms). Only done 123k kms too.

Just looking at this:
Seller claims its a special edition. Anyone got any idea what it is?
Its a 320SL but never seen those wheels before....
They're the 1999-onwards 17" Albali wheels (same as I have). Its not a special edition of any sort. From the rest of the photos it looks a bit unloved, and the bumper looks pretty scuffed. Painted grille looks weird too. Not that pricey at £3.5k mind. Seller claims its a special edition. Anyone got any idea what it is?

Over budget and is 2004 is a bit early for one of these?
Looks the part and can't fault the spec.

I bought this last Thursday. I'd just missed out on a different E500 when I'd wanted to think about it over the weekend, by the time I rang on the Monday it had sold. So when I saw the above, I phoned had a quick chat about the spec and headed up to see it immediately.Looks the part and can't fault the spec.

When I got there the garage owner handed me the keys and told me to go for a drive. Within the first 1/2 mile I knew I was going to buy it.
It is a two owner car, 83.k miles, rear seats barely used, interior and exterior in very good condition. I spent a long time playing with all the electrics and couldn't find anything that wasn't working.

The E500 AMG doesn't exist does it?
It's like your c200 CDi AMG but with some muscle, as per M Sport, styling and wheelsAs part of the sale, they are updating the phone prep (still has the original Nokia handset in the centre console), sorting out a small rust bubble in the N/S rear wheel arch, new MoT, service, putting my private plate on, adding six months tax and removing the AMG badge too.
Should be a reasonable car for long distance trips, leaving the Nissan Leaf for the shorter hop to my office and back.
Insurance is only £300, so clearly some advantages to being in my late 30's now.

Did you HPI it? What's the deal with the gap between the NSR light and the bootlid?

Yes, HPI came back clear.Did you HPI it? What's the deal with the gap between the NSR light and the bootlid?
I suspect the boot wasn't properly closed when they took that photo. I took some photos when I was there and the gap is as you'd expect it to be on both sides.
