Cambridge used to have those rising bollards on the bus/taxi only roads in the town centre. I believe they've have now been replaced by ANPR cameras because the bollards kept malfunctioning as a result of (a) generally being crap and unreliable; or (b) being damaged by densoids trying to follow authorised vehicles through.
