20 MOJ is a correct plate.

The font is one of the 3 pre 2001 fonts that were used up until the switch over in 2001, so the physical plate may have been owned for a long time and it's just been transferred from car to car in its lifetime.

I guessed it was an older driver; AA shield, so perhaps it's been owned a while...did not know about the pre 2001 font, but the spacing is still wrong?

Ok, come on now, that has got to be worth a pulling over.

Correct plate is XXI 6007 (I being the letter)

So this plate is misspaced to look like the new format. Ridiculous

Well spotted. It took me while to work out what the number should actually be. Hence the photo, to capture the utter stupidity.
I suspect its misspaced to highlight the 007 bit.

Because he's worth it....loser

20 MOJ is the correct spacing, but the gapping between some of the characters might be slightly off when it was originally made up, but only just. Worth bearing in mind that basic motor factor shops of the era used to make up plates lining letters up by eye only, grids only really appeared in motor factor shops much later. So if the plate was made late 70’s early 80’s then it was likely made by eye.

In short, there’s nothing about this plate which is crappy or intending to be something ignorant. smile

Poorly articulated on my part, that’s what I was alluding too…I guess the handmade element pre BS gives it a pass, perhaps I’ll post it in the other thread instead smile
