Mid-high twenties
Thirties on a run
The 50i a little better on fuel but not much in it. When you consider 335i MPG is about the same (a bit less but not much)!the V8 does look ok on fuel.
Quite economical compared to the MB E500 which was low twenties.
Thanks for that, only seen 645's in budget so that probably rules out the 650.Thirties on a run

I agree, they have so much presence too. Not sure about the colour of that one though SuperHangOn said:
Wowsers!
Im guessing 'the man' is in NI?
I can't find anyone to do my spring perches. I've been recommended a couple of bodyshops but neither seem interested in the job, I even took it in for one of them to look at. I guess they figure its a lot of hard work and faff but they can't quote much on a 15 year old car.

Today I am liking this one, anything to be scared of?
108k miles £4990 S211 320cdi, heated front and rear seats, boot cubby storage, electric tailgate, looks like all bells and whistles entertainment system with TV screen in rear and satnav. Crucially it isn't plain silver (think it's a grey?) or black, has a light coloured interior with 7 seats which makes it acceptable to my wife. I'm tempted to roll up a primed debit card in the morning but interested in threadist's views. It is a pre-facelift which is the only thing putting me off a bit, but not that much. I think I can see two stalks - does it have cruise?

The Man is actually in Newcastle, I was struggling to find someone to work on the car over here, and he came highly recommended by r129sl...
I will hopefully be doing the same come the new year with my w124. It's gone the wrong side of a little scruffy. idiotgap said:

Looks like cubanite silver on my iPad screen. Heated rear seats and rear entertainment is very rare on any 211.108k miles £4990 S211 320cdi, heated front and rear seats, boot cubby storage, electric tailgate, looks like all bells and whistles entertainment system with TV screen in rear and satnav. They all have cruise control. Memory seats are also fairly rare. HK sound system upgrade also. Plenty of option boxes ticked.
54 reg is great. Superior rust protection. Solid engine and box. Looks like a good buy.
Panel gap around bonnet and front headlamps is questionable though.

Very slightly over-budget, but it's purple and has 12 cylinders.

The gap looks fine to me. Exactly the same as the 55 plate one I see every day which hasn't ever been involved in an accident. They all have cruise control. Memory seats are also fairly rare. HK sound system upgrade also. Plenty of option boxes ticked.

My dad had a new 645ci (convertible) and put 70k on it in three years, when he handed it back the average on the trip was 23 and a bit over that mileage. It was a manual, and he drives quite briskly.
Nice cars, I fancy one when they drop into poor mechanic weeked motor territory !
The suspension on his was noticeably tired when he handed it back. The only other issue it had was needING a replacement clutch at 1500 miles !

Looks good to me too. Sensible price and mileage, good spec, and the gaps look fine to my eyes. ...I'm tempted to roll up a primed debit card in the morning but interested in threadist's views.
I'd be there at 1100 tomorrow as they open with a poised wallet if I were you! Good luck.

Is a cloth interior unusual in one of these.

Thanks for the thoughts and comments on the 54 plate 211, I hope it looks as good when I see it for real!
I really like it. It's a great spec. I can't guarantee it's a good one, but it looks good to me.If that's the sort of thing you're looking for, I think you should go for it.

Proper rare spec on that S211, can't remember the last time I saw one with heated rear seats, and that entertainment system in the back looks pretty cool, if slightly out of date now!108k miles £4990 S211 320cdi, heated front and rear seats, boot cubby storage, electric tailgate, looks like all bells and whistles entertainment system with TV screen in rear and satnav.
