Something a little unusual - I'll add the caveat that I think the pricing is off by perhaps £1k but they are genuinely rare enough that it's hard to benchmark.

Dark red metallic, piped cream leather, lots of toys, 3.5 V6 petrol engine, undeniably a barge.

Deliberately not adding a photo, since this is definitely not the car you have in your mind based on the above...

o/

I'll deny that that's a barge. It's a minibus.

that is completely awesome
They're the outfit that had the LPG C6 I saw, I wonder if they have someone on tap?

Lovely though, what a thing.

The barge of all barges?

MB 600, absolutely fantastic in the metal, not for sale but a worthwhile post from a small gathering in the town centre today.

ETA; sorry for the poor photo I had to screen shot it from my phone as the real one was too large to upload.

Unfortunately, were it be for sale, it'd be too many multiples over budget to be even funny smile

Gorgeous coloured 3 litre 24v 960 in decent nick here

Nothing scarey in MOT history either.
That looks awesome!
High levels of want for this! Bet there is zero rust on it to! Would look great alongside my 740 and v70!

A pleasant enough day at Hopetoun House near Edinburgh.

Suitably bargey cars on show:

Wish I'd went to this, we should've combined this with a northern meet!

That was my initial reaction but then I thought what happens in the average chauffeur driven car - the chauffeur spends 95% of their time sitting around waiting.

Nice, but for me it has to be the CX Prestige with buttoned leather.

That's lovely - 1964 sedan/Fleetwood, but wearing a 1963 bonnet V badge.

I'll get me coat.

That is indeed awesome, and it's given me a theoretical dilemma: the old boy's Volvo or this? I'm torn.

Sorry, if I hadn't discovered it at 11 this morning I would have posted here. It wasn't the most stunning collection of cars, but it was entertaining enough. I'll try and plan things a little more in advance next time. It would have been a great meet up. £5 entry and £5 to tour Hopetoun house.

It won't have been a chauffeur car I'm afraid, they have specific build standards (at least B4 armour, and an internal partition to permit conversations behind to remain there rated to what we now call Secret). There is a long held belief US-E cars need to be American, however this is only the case where they are sold in the local market so as to not stand out. Flags are only standard for the Ambassador and Deputy.

This would merely have been a staff pool car I'm afraid. If it has no D plate history it will have been available for locally employed staff to use on official business (something always on hand rather than relying on hire car companies), potentially doubling up as something used by new arrivals (most tours are 3-4 years) before they buy something they want and get a D assigned. FSH on the button for these.

If it had a D it will have been bought by someone who on leaving will have sold it on to whoever took over from them, time after time, as "it'll do". That happens quite a lot in all embassies. Personal owners are not usually lax (given they will want to shift it on at tour end), but servicing not guaranteed with these.

The point being I wouldn't be paying a premium for any romantic notion of this carrying POTUS or the like, it's just a company car with a mildly more interesting than usual company behind it.

Not often this uber-barge is to be found in budget. 'Only' the 500, and with 200k, but this is a car whose time is coming, and who doesn't love blue velour?

Interesting reason for sale too.
