The Hongqi CA7460 (top image) which is a Lincoln Town Car. Ford shipped them out to China largely completed and things like the different lights and grille were added.

Well spotted! I hadn't picked up on that.

I've now got an image in my mind of a group of VW execs at corporate HQ with alphabet fridge magnets first spelling out the name of an existing model then swapping the letters round to make something new. They must have struggled to do something with GOLF (or RABBIT), JETTA, POLO or UP laugh

A Chinese copy of a car with appalling build quality to start with yikes

What could possibly go wrong?

Looks like they have previous form. Maybe the fridge magnet idea isn't that far fetched

I suppose POLO could become the new VW LOOP. Look out for it coming to showrooms near you soon! biggrin

I'd quite like to try one of the air cooled Gol's. Looks like a Gold with a Beetle engine in it, what's not to like biggrin

What are those "bunk bed ladder" frame things behind the front seats?
Good question - may be the bracing used to keep the body rigid whilst they chop it up - looks like it's part finished - no rear seats, rear wiper etc.... though strange they'd use a part finished car for publicity shots?

They didn't appear on other Schulz E28's, so I'd assume this is an early one.
Ideally all E28's would look as stunning as this, the reality is different:

Thanks to you, all I can think of now is what a VW PU! would look like hehe

Perhaps carefully spec'd with a special 'PU Brown' interior and paintwork... rofl

Remember the Panther car co?

They were bought by SsangYong in Korea and made a few Solo 3s

The Panther Solo was about the only car to have a longer, and ultimately flaccid, gestation than the Jaguar F-type.

1983 Volvo manufactured 500 "flat-hood" 242 Group-A turbos

2,127cc Turbocharged Intercooled 4-Cylinder Engine Fuel Injection 161bhp at 5,100 rpm! Was a huge let down thought awesome sleeper until I read the bhp though it is group A car!

The race versions were somewhat infamous for being very powerful (300-350 bhp), but with massive turbo lag.

Apparently they also considered a Group A version of the 760 Turbo:

Tests didn't go well, though so the project was shelved.
