st ad but look at the colour, the spec, the motor, the price... W124. 3.2l. Automatic climate. Heated seats. 'Lecky seats. Ortho and memory for the driver. Smoke silver. MB Tex. I don't really want to post it here but unless someone wants to bid for my E430, it's not on the cards.

It really is. Question though - what's MBTex like to live with? I've never sat on it (in fact I can count the times I've sat in any Merc on two hands) and the couple of times I've prodded it at car shows it's seemed a bit... industrial, and not exactly cosseting. What has it got going for it other than being hard-wearing?

MB Tex.

It's incredibly hard-wearing.

It wipes clean.

It's incredibly hard-wearing.

In this car it is heated, which will make it more bearable.

And it's incredibly hard-wearing.

If that had either a caramel or chocolate interior it would be mine. As it is, the rather insipid colour combo deters me somewhat.

Approval greatly appreciated. The Almandine 2.5 is just about my perfect car, not a lot could ever take its place. 2.3-16 is superb, no freer revving than the M102.990 but less flexible across the range and ultimately less grunty.

200 isn’t stupid low mileage, 63k, and the 300CE is just perfect for long distance cruising and general daily barge duties. 27mpg over the run at the weekend was a little keen, although the cruising altitude must be taken in to account...

Low miles V6 Camry with what look like velour seats. Weirdly appealing.

I'm going to bid on that. I contacted the seller earlier today with a couple of queries but he hasn't answered me.

And hence my question earlier about potential wiring loom problems.

It was him who has sold that earlier black S500 that I posted that ended a couple of weeks ago.

I only really have time to sort car stuff in a couple of weeks, and it's Derin's now. I couldn't compete smile

I like it though - my green one went to 195k miles, so I see this as an easy 125k mile car!

One of my questions to the vendor was regarding an oil leak advisory in the MOT history that I looked up yesterday. That was noted a few years back but then not in later MOTs. So, either it's the usual weep that you get via those engine's head-gasket which then might have been rectified with the later, modified gasket or subsequent MOT testers have chosen to ignore it?

Anyone feeling super brave with a £1500 C140 500 project? Has new wings and wiring loom to be fitted by someone with much patience and optimism. Still, I say again, £1500!

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2019...

ETA scrap that, £725 buying fee on top, or "fk that then". Sorry, false alarm!

I spotted that on Wifetrader the other day, but the £1500 + £750 buying fee really hacked me off. I believe it avoids paying more for the ad.

Pillarlessness, though, is lovely.

I've never heard of a car referred to as "him"

£725 buying fee makes purchase impossible of course.

I’m pretty sure the only time I ever viewed a car at an Evans Halshaw they wanted a buyers fee type payment, seemed to be their way of pricing cars for less than anywhere else.

I walked.

And it gets seen by people searching in lower price brackets. But you can report the advert to AT for "Misleading price (Not the full selling price or Admin fee not included in full selling price)".

Gold Jap barge?

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

This is the 2.5l turbo 4wd model.

£4250 should be able to knock a few quid off that?
