i think it's an american-derived thing isn't it? Maybe there is an assumption that the recipient would actually care about the sender's life. Don't they know that British people send most of their Christmas cards to people they met on holiday in Crete in 1985 and literally have never spoken to in 35 years?
We haven't seen our round robin letter family for over 40 years. It was much shorter last Christmas as they didn't go on ONE holiday.yikes

I have to admit, shamefaced, to writing a round robin. I had always mocked them mercilessly. However, the sight of my overworked wife (an NHS doctor), spending literally weeks' worth of evenings writing out little vignettes in every Christmas card she sends (and realising that I can never persuade her to give up sending them) finally made me crack. I offered to write something she could just stuff in the envelopes.

I made it a sarcastic send up of the types of stupid letter we'd been receiving. The trouble was we actually got people asking for it the following year. And every year since.

I hate having to write it - but my wife now has the cards out in a few days and is much happier. Happy wife, happy life.

Bell ends like Shmee travelling round the world not giving a toss about the pandemic. He can spout all his nonsense about doing it within government guidelines but it doesn’t wash with me.

The idiots responsible for direction signs to the local COVID test station. I followed the yellow signs onto the industrial estate, got to a junction with NO sign, wen the wrong way,got lost, turned back the other way, back the way I came & then on to the test.
The red line is where I went below, the yellow one is where I could have driven with proper signs!

Could be deliberate to push a potential traffic queue away from that A6 roundabout?

Not that I'm approving that behaviour in any way.

3/4 length trousers.
For people who either have very hot shins and therefore can’t wear full length or can’t wear shorts as suffer from cold knees.

Or they're just complete c**Ts.

We have a lot of them here in Brighton. They all vote for Caroline Lucas. Nuff said.

Shorts are 3/4 length trousers though these days. Not like the seventies and eighties when shorts were shorts.

They also seem to have spurious drawstring things all over them for some reason.
Mostly worn with those horrible hiking sandles

When you're walking along a path or pavement, over to one side, and there's someone coming the other way, and they see you, and deliberately move across to the same side of the path you're walking on, so you're left either having to get out of their way or steamroller through. It doesn't seem to be any particular demographic.
