STOLEN BMW 335d - YH11 HJD - East London
Discussion
I have just had my black BMW 335d - YH11 HJD stolen from my drive way this morning.
I am one hundred percent it was locked cause I drove home, took out my golf clubs and other bits from the car. I then checked it was locked as my Mrs constantly reminds me. Went to bed at 12am last night, car was still there and woke this morning to go to work only to find the car is gone. Having read through various threads and others I am amazed how BMW aren't doing anything about this.
Both keys are with me. They made virtually no sound and the alarm did not go off. Not sure how they got into the vehicle?
Feel quite sick about this. Not sure I want another BMW even when the insurance pays out.

Could be an organised gang thing, when I was living in London about 5 years ago there was a gang/s going 'round stealing W124 Mercs for export by lifting them onto a low loader in the middle of the night. I had to park my 124 on the street in SW London back then away from my flat and was always half-expecting it to be gone in the morning... I think they caught the main gang doing this a couple of years ago, but I guess there's always new people to replace them.
Sorry to read about your car. I see it has a Yorkshire number plate suggesting that it may have been an ex BMW management car, many of these so called management cars are actually airport daily rental cars which have been driven by masses of people, who knows, there may be people hiring these cars, getting their key codes, linking in with their trackers (if fitted) and then coming to steal them at a later date. Sounds a bit far fetched but anything is possible. Is this only happening around London or has it happened in other areas?
sorry to hear about your BMW which i'm sure you've worked hard for getting taken
must be about the 5th one in the last week i've read about on here
If BMW don't sort this out it will definitely result in a fall in sales in London area
I think the only way to get the this sorted is for someone to take a class action lawsuit against BMW
the car locking system and CPU are clearly flawed

I can't believe how many people have been effected by this. Makes me feel worse as I am not the only one suffering at the moment. Definitely won't be getting another Beemer any time soon, to much evidence going against them on how easy they are to steal.
I have emailed watchdog, you never know if enough people complain it might get high enough profile for them to take notice.
Sad sad day

Seems to be a trend. Goodluck with it all, I hope they catch the scum!

This is getting silly now, why is there no recall if its related to key? The few we read about on here must be the tip of the iceberg.

Mates friend had his M1 (current 1 series M car) stolen a couple of weeks ago. All caught on camera.
Thieves opened the car without the keys. Then reprogrammed the cpu to accept alternative key. Drove off.
BMW have a major product failure here.
A) opening car without keys and without alarm going off... oddThieves opened the car without the keys. Then reprogrammed the cpu to accept alternative key. Drove off.

B) Alternative key surely won't fit the barrel, so you've still got the ignition lock to get past... must still involve some breakage?
