Those cheap plastic England flags on your car?

Chav yob or patriot?

White vans excluded as it seems obligatory!

you need to put some effort in for patriotism. spotted a white punto with the george cross on the roof, extending down the sides, bonnet and boot. I'm assuming it was vinyl and no different from stickering up for le mans imo.

Not something I'd do, (I'm Scottish so don't really get the chance!), but what harm is it doing?

Working south of the border I see it a lot and I guess there is a bit of stigma attached, but I admire the patriotism.

I was having this conversation with a few mates last night, it looks so tacky and quite frankly embarrassing.

Cue all the PH members with them on their cars quickly removing them!

Have you noticed you only ever see them on cheap cars as well?

It's funny you say that, I've just moved to the US and I'm quite pleased at how much of the flag you see here, you'd never mistake where you were and it's certainly not because they're Chavs or members of the BNP. Some of the towns have HUGE flags flying, makes a nice change.

Because American people have respect for the flag, not fly them off the boot of a 1980 Datsun Cherry.

Chavs...

Most of them have no patriotism beyond football - they'll still terrorise and smash up their neighbourhood at night and would be the first out of the country if they got a chance without losing their 'official' main source of income - i.e. benefits!

Reason for the post was that I saw a 10 plate Merc S Class on the way home with 2 flags!

Until that point I assumed it was a Corsa/Astra thing!

My local church was flying the cross of St. George yesterday and it was quite a stunning sight, completely unlike the crappy plastic England flags appearing on cars across the country as we speak. They are crap because they are 50p tat, not because of what they represent.

They do look a little tacky but I can't understand people who criticise others for flying the national flag.

Wouldn't put one on my car, but have no issue with others doing it.
