Whats the saying? Pics or it didn't happen?
Well since DXB has offered videos - this obviously means he can show proof of his track day passing the M3's, Vantages and Elise's etc...
So until he posts these videos, showing him out-driving them (when the are obviously on it and not on a slow-down in lap) it didn't happen![wink](/inc/images/wink.gif)

The first video is of a standard 335d accelerating from 0-260 km/h. The driver is in "sport mode" on the gearbox so clearly means business.
The second vid is of a lightly modified (air filter and exhaust) E36 M3 accelerating. Fast forward the vid to approx 3 minutes in where the driver does a 0-240 km/h pull. My car accelerates exactly the same as this car so I have no reason to believe the driver has done anything extra to this car.
It is clear from the two video's that an E36 M3 is quicker than the standard 335d. Not by a huge amount but it IS quicker. I imagine a mapped 335d is probably AS quick as this M3.
Therefore I cannot see how dxb's dads 335d can possibly be as quick in a straight line drag race as an E46 M3 / V8 Vantage / FQ360 and other much much faster cars as dxb claims.

APMSL @ this thread.
Carlos - I own an e92 335i M sport and a slightly modified e46 CSL, to class the e92 m Sport chassis as "chuckable" is mad, the claim the steering is anything other than numb is crazy and to claim that a remapped 335d is quicker than a CSL on track shows you have properly lost it.
Our 335i is a lovely comfortable place to be and is quickish in a straight line, a great way to cover big distances and lots of toys to keep you entertained when stuck in traffic, it really is a lovely car - as it yours (apart from the tractor engine obviously
but sometimes you have to realise it is not a track car, it is not a super car, and it isn't all that fast, it is just a great rep mobile.

Gosh what a thread. I don't know whether its a good or bad thread - some of the responses are hilarious but to see the reputation of the E92 completely destroyed is rather worrying given its top of the list for my next car.
Personally I really like the E92 - and irrespective of Carlos's constant ramblings about his car (He likes his car, I can kinda empathise with him, if I thought anyone gave a s
t I'd ramble on all day about my car) a 3 Series Coupe and an Audi TT Coupe are not exactly a million miles away and the TT Cab isn't, roof aside, much different from the Coupe.
I do wish he'd stop banging on as if its some sort of supercar though. It isn't, and if anything, its why the car itself appeals to me more than something like an M3...

Your right, its not a fast car, plus the fact his has been modified and he compares it to stock cars is embarrasing enough for the Beemer Badge.Personally I really like the E92 - and irrespective of Carlos's constant ramblings about his car (He likes his car, I can kinda empathise with him, if I thought anyone gave a s

DXB if you think the mapped 335D is fast, why don't you take it to TOTB and drag it out with the likes of Andy forrest (9.64 1/4 mile @ 142mph) and Olly Clarke (9.23 1/4 mile @ 148mph) they have modified cars. Or infact about 90% of the people that actually go to drag it out would love to bend you over and reem you.
Edit: oh and before you go on about rolling starts, they cane you there too 1km drag producing over 180 mph in most cases so im sure the rolling start would be too much problem to these people.
