Apparently Alfa think there are thousands of frustrated buyers out there who want to pay £20k more than a Elise for a car that goes... like an Elise.
Good luck with that. At £54k I'd be looking at a year old M3 or something bigger, comfier, more reliable and above all quicker than a fking Alfa.
But what if you want a sports car, and not a great fking lardy executive saloon?Good luck with that. At £54k I'd be looking at a year old M3 or something bigger, comfier, more reliable and above all quicker than a fking Alfa.

He might as well be saying: "But a Toyota Land Cruiser has 7 seats, can go off-road and has a V8!" - It's completely irrelevant. A monkey can shine your shoes; should everyone buy one instead of the Alfa?
Am I in the minority when I say the buzz of this car still hasn't worn off yet? I want it more and that feeling isn't reducing.
Having seen a matt black Spider at today's Bristol Italia show, I bet it looks phenomenal in the matt White colour and having looked at the texture doesn't appear to be as hard to keep clean as I expected but suspect trying to polish scratches out would be a nightmare/impossible, as it would smooth the finish?

Judging by the crowd around the stand at Techno Classica, Essen, not a jot.Having seen a matt black Spider at today's Bristol Italia show, I bet it looks phenomenal in the matt White colour and having looked at the texture doesn't appear to be as hard to keep clean as I expected but suspect trying to polish scratches out would be a nightmare/impossible, as it would smooth the finish?

Just to confirm, it wasn't a 4C Spider! I haven't even seen photos of a real 4C Spider (if one even exists yet) but a Alfa Spider (Brera generation).Im still excited, but the proof is in the driving, or for me not in a positition to drive one, reading, how much better it is than the elise SC and the Cayman S...
A 140bhp ELise is a pretty rapid little car which according to the V5 weighs about the same. Ever been in a 240 Cup Exige? Less break horse power, same weight and they don't hang around plus I bought one from new so I now exactly how much it cost and it wasn't far off 50K and that was several years ago. You also can't compare to it the new Exige S on price , yes it costs 50 odd K but once you add a few options (necessary options at that) the price rapidly increases.
I hate all this, if it was 35K it will sell bks. So I say to those that say this "G on, make a car for 35K with 350 odd bhp, carbon tub and looks this good for that price. My money is waiting"

Indeed, also its in limited numbers, so selling them isnt really a big deal. The fact that we can say 'light weight sports car that rivals a cayman' and 'Alfa Romeo' in ther same sentance is a pretty good thing for a brand thats been loosing its sportyness.I hate all this, if it was 35K it will sell bks. Also when have italian sports cars been cheap, um not very often, and they wont be when they have CF tubs...
