When you start out big gains come fairly easy, it gets harder and harder the longer you do it( trying to improve)
I like the social side of track days, espically the foreign ones
Anyway, It would be cool if you could manage to get your bike sorted and come along to on the the td we have in the biker banter section
Yeah for sure, I didn't expect I would drop another 3 seconds the next time I went! I like the social side of track days, espically the foreign ones

Well I'll see about a bike TD but like I say, I've put a lot of time and money into my kitcar to get it ready for next year so will be taking that out. Crashing the CBR put me off bike TDs a bit...not for fear of hurting myself (not even a scratch on me luckily) but just the ease with which I pissed away a load of money dropping the bike when I wasn't even pushing hard at the time. I enjoy car TDs just as much and it's a lot less expensive when something goes wrong.

Awesome. That place in the wet is unbelievable. I remember one year the 125's were being spat off on the warm-up lap in a straight line, it was like glass. We were in the paddock after being told that they weren't going to run them in practice (despite 125's probably being the best equipped to run through puddles). At the end of the MotoGP session Rossi was out there on wets with a drying track. Everyone was switching to inters and some having a go with slick rears getting the feel of the surface. Rossi proceeded to absolutely destroy his tyres and go sideways everywhere waving to the crowd. He said afterwards he wanted to give a show to the fans who had been camped out in the pissing rain all weekend. Unfortunately this was never recorded and was only seen live, everyone had the camera feeds up, some of the most bonkers riding I have ever seen. Quite what the team thought of it I don't know

That really is breathtakingly exquisite bike control! That is truly phenomenal bike control. I had an off in the wet which blew my confidence totally. I then did a trackday in truly horrific conditions which boosted me right back up after following the instructor around and seeing how much grip I actually had. Stopped riding the day I got back from a Scotland trip last year as a very good friend had an off and died on the A90 between Dundee and Perth. Never ridden since and sold the bike. I'll do it again one day though.
