Glad i made you laugh! they are quite porky for a sports car though, i am glad they do a remap & delimit for it though that might help a bit!!... compared to my 520d it feels nippy...
I doubt it... it's a very highly tuned N/A engine, so a remap won't offer much increase.I had a remap, de-cat supersprint exhaust, induction kit with pipes from ducts where the fog lights were on my 3.0 M3, and whilst it probably made a difference on the rolling road, or VS another M3, it didn't really feel any faster.
I would take the DMS figures with a pinch of salt - getting another 32 bhp out of a very highly tuned N/A is gonna be difficult - with an exhaust and induction maybe, but I would be very surprised if there was a genuine increase of that level.
Think about the 123d, a 2.0 twin turbo diesel, known to react very well to a remap, goes from 201bhp to ~250.
So this car is a testament to Porsche Engineers. They've been able to take the engine and transmission from my Father's 2012 Volkswagen Touraeg TDI and through chassis and suspension tuning made it a legitimate sport sedan. Sounds like what Lotus did with the Elise/Evora with Toyota engines. Brings up the question, is the engine the heart of a sports car anymore?
Last week I had a rental Chevvy Impala in the US. This is a mass market saloon ($25k'ish) with 300hp. 50hp more than the Panamera Diesel of which I just took delivery.
Interestingly the two cars have similar 0 to 60 times, but there the similarities end. Of course these are completely different cars for different markets, but it does highlight the fact that looking at raw numbers and trying to deduce the dynamic worthiness of a car is a foolish endeavour.

A sensible post? On Pistonheads? Can it be?Interestingly the two cars have similar 0 to 60 times, but there the similarities end. Don't come on here spouting sense with your real world first hand experience!Interestingly the two cars have similar 0 to 60 times, but there the similarities end. Right. just driven a friends new Panamera Diesel - bloody lovely car. Beautiful interior. Excellent build, great ride, plenty quick enough, lovely seats, great handling. Fab car. Even like the looks - esp in Black.
Cant wait for our similarly engined/interior'd Cayenne to arrive now.
Looks very menacing in black doesn't it?Cant wait for our similarly engined/interior'd Cayenne to arrive now.

Doesn't everything! Difficult to beat as colours go.I've just been given one as a courtesy car from OPC mid sussex whilst the GT3 is being serviced.
I wasn't expecting to like it, but having driven all of 30 miles it seams very good, the cabin's a nice place to be, drives well and is apparently very economical.
Performance seams adequate on the run down to work (which is a mixture of A & B roads and a little duel carriage way) although I was very aware of the size of the thing on the country B-raods
Still not 100% sold on the looks but in a few years I could quite happily have one as a daily driver.
