General Information
Model : Land Rover Defender Big Foot

Year of Manufacture : 2006 (By LR Special Vehicles)
Engine Specification : 5 Cylinder (Td5), 2.5 Litre delivering 124 BHP @ 4200RPM. Max torque 221lbf ft @ 1950RPM.
Fuel Spec : Diesel
Transmission : Permanent 4 wheel drive through a LT77 5 speed gearbox with a 2 speed LT230Q transfer box. This vehicle is also fitted with an Ashcroft Underdrive low range unit. Hydraulic clutch 9.25'' dia.
Transfer box has a manually operated differential lock and additionally has ARB diff lockers.
Chassis Frame: Ladder chassis frame with detachable centre crossmember
Suspension Front : Beam axle with long travel coil springs and dampers. Forged radius arm controlling the longitudinal location with a Panhard Rod providing lateral location. Anti roll bar fitted to front suspension.
Suspension Rear : Beam axle with long travel heavy duty coil springs and dampers. Links provide longitudinal location with an anti roll bar providing roll stability. An 'A' frame provides lateral location.
Wheels & Tyres : 38'' Wheels with Mickey Thompson 395/70R16 Tyres
Brakes (inc Park Brake) : Hydraulic Servo Assist, dual circuit, ABS system. Front discs 11.8 ''dia (ventilated). Rear discs 11.4'' dia.
Transmission Brake 10'' Drum cable operated.
Steering : Adwest Recirculating Ball Power Steering System. 3.5 turns lock to lock. Heavy duty Drag Link and Track Rod.
Body : The donor vehicle was a standard 110'' wheelbase station wagon which was then modified to accept the oversize wheels & tyres.
Electrical System : 12 volt negative earth Split Charge.
Vehicle History
This is one of two vehicles modified by Land Rover Special Vehicles to support press launch activities based in Iceland and Morocco. The work, which was extensive, was carried out by Land Rover Special Vehicles and included :-
• Extended wheel arches to accommodate oversize wheels and tyres.
• Fitment of ARB differential lockers front and rear plus required compressors.
• Ashcroft Underdrive.
• Electrical split charge system.
• Warn winch.
• Long travel dampers.
• Interior roll cage.
• GPS and satellite phone system.
• Interior cabin heater.
The vehicle now resides with the Land Rover Experience Heritage Vehicles based at Solihull.
