What a shame...Alan will be sorely missed by a lot of racing fans from that era. At least the legacy of his cars is still with us. The giant killing RS1600s were absolutely awesome against the big Camaros and Boss Mustangs of the time. I remember going to the British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch in 1970 and one of the support races was the Wiggins Teape Paperchase with Frank Gardner in a black Boss Mustang and Mike Crabtree in his RS1600 Escort, amongst others. I was only nine but the memory is as clear as a bell. Superb racing! As a reminder click on the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kY5zdnGvT0c

That must have been some day out..!!
Over forty years on and still fresh in your mind..
Technology had not become so mental as today's cars with
so much of the cars control taken up by computer management etc...
The RS3100 Capri's were something else to behold too...
R.I.P to a true legend...angel

I remember as an adolescent seeing that car and a siser one a Mallory, coming out of Devils Elbow on three wheels, there had been nothing else like it, start of a love affair with cars which still burns, you have a lot to be remebered for Alan, thank you.
