As has been seen from the numerous other threads on this subject, these punters are very good at what they do (i.e. more often than not, the newly purchased car in question doesn't actually develop a fault).

Subsequently, the buyer wants to commence a dialogue with the seller, whereby he hopes the seller will pass comment in such a way which could be construed as an admission of guilt/liability.

The best way to avoid this is simply to say and do absolutely nothing, unless the buyer becomes violent/threatening, at which point you contact the police.

Yeah the plan is to do nothing now. The way they tried to knock the price down after leaving a deposi was odd, with her father claiming to have been in the trade. He even wante to take the whole log book with him saying he knows what he's doing. My dad had to read every bit of the new keeper section on the back to him haha.

And yes, it's an old 2000 1.0 corsa that they paid £950 for.
