There's a guy on here with a Veyron. Do you count tyres and wheels in your calculations?
Are wheels a consumable on a Veyron?

The new edition of Evo popped through the door this morning and it is the supercar issue and a very good read. One of the articles was on supercar running costs and for the Veyron the tyres have to be replaced every 2500 miles and cost £6325 each, so that is £25k a pop. Then at 7500 you have to replace all 4 wheels at £29 900. So if you did 7500 miles per year it would be a total of apporximately £100 000 on wheels and tyres alone. The price of an entire 997 turbo.

I'd be sticking them in the garage and getting something aftermarket, no matter if they look a bit odd.

I knew I shouldn't have calculated this as it makes me slightly upset, but counting just servicing and insurance:

Ferrari 360 | 2470 pence per mile excluding fuel

Figures are due to the fact I've done just 100 miles since buying the car, but had a full cambelt service done plus insurance costs. I think I need to do more miles to bring that figure down smile
That's quite a jump from a Rover 200 to a Ferrari 360! smile I bet that test drive was fun smile

BMW E34 540auto over 6 years: coming out about 11p/mile - providing you don't count fuel wink

Which I think is pretty awesome for this lovely old thing. A farily complete history in my profile is the basis for this estimate.

[Actually, adding fuel cost for the use it gets is around +25p/mile again, based on 25mpg long term average - still not bad for a mid-90s 4L v8. Then again 'fuel economy' really doen't really matter, I simply like it smile ]
