RE: BMW M3 GTS: Spotted
Discussion
Having owned three CSL's I thought this would be an awesome car. Arranged to buy one at 75k two years ago but pulled out and bought a 997.2 GT3 in slate grey.
Perhaps the BMW would have been the better car who knows I just could not bring myself to pull up at country hotels looking like I had reversed though Halfords with the car covered in super glue

In fairness, the GT3 is hardly a retiring car - most have been 'Stickers are us' and "High Contrast Paintland" and all of them crashed into 'Spoilerworld featuring air-intake fest' ;0Perhaps the BMW would have been the better car who knows I just could not bring myself to pull up at country hotels looking like I had reversed though Halfords with the car covered in super glue
The CTR is cool however there's something about the GTS which is HUGELY appealing - probably the rear-wing, I like a good spoiler.
If any generous PHer would therefore like to offer me an early Christmas present and buy the GTS for me, that would be much appreciated. I promise to drive it every day and struggle through that experience.![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)

Anyone who has seen a CRT in the flesh will know that it's no wallflower. The paintwork and red accents give you the impression it's a standard M3, which has been chavved up. The interior, whilst nice is also quite colourful and in your face. I like it, but it looks more Halfords than a GTS in my view, which at least looks more factory at first glance.
Anyone who is interested in one should try these guys. I bought my SOR GTS off them, and it was immaculate. The same owner is selling the CTR, and again it's a very clean car.

As far as comparing the GTS to a CSL, there are pros and cons.
The CSL has that awesome induction noise which is missing in the GTS, has a more bespoke interior, with more carbon, and is more discreet. The GTS is a much better car, the gearbox is objectively miles better, it has lots more grunt, a better exhaust noise, adjustable suspension, the cage, and overall is a much sharper driving tool - in some ways a bit edgy. It's also a lot rarer in the UK, with only 10 or so RHD cars left here.
