What is wrong with just buying the car & leaving the personal plate on it?
Most (but not all) "personal/private" plates nowadays just look ridiculous with crap spacing, etc; presumably if it was a decent plate, it would have been sold separately or retained by the seller. It was listed on the bca auction site as a bmw 330e stating "private plate" . Both auto trader and the DVLA shows the plate referring to a white Toyota pickup.
However this morning the auction details have changed and it's showing a normal number plate. The earlier photo showing the private plate we're in the auction holding compound.
I can't understand why if it's listed against a Toyota it was photographed on a bmw.

As suggested. Photo was taken with private plate physically on it even though it had been transferred. They eventually got wrong to putting the age related physical plate on.
