Meant to add - thank you to the OP for details on fixing electrical gremlins. Had some sensors replaced recently which I am hoping will fix what would appear to be the same issue but will know where to go if not.

I would like to contact the current owner this B6S Alpina, if this is build number 100 I was the original owner of the car when new.
The car was sold back to Sytners as they had itv sold to someone in London. The car was a flying machine but it did have a few issues, was sorry to see it go but the property development took a hamming and was part of my cost cutting to survive the mad goings on in the banking sector.
