Fingers crossed Toyota see the demand for this and begin to add other models to offer parts for.
This would be really great. I never found parts for my Skyline GTS-t a problem though, even got a pair of rear shocks within 3 days through the snow a couple of years ago ![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)

Thats a good point. The 25 year rule has made the price of R33's shoot up, even lowly GTST's.
It's not just skylines, all 90s jap cars have massively gone up in value,jay-kay-em said:
With the 'new blood' manufacturers on the scene being so good nowadays (Kia... Hyundai…) then heritage is one of things these old timers are leaning on more. New blood can’t buy heritage.
I’m restoring a Volvo 480 at the moment and it is so hard. When Ford bought Volvo in 2000, they absolutely decimated spare part reserves.
I can promise you Volvo will start leaning on its 80’s and 90’s classic car owners to support their events under a heritage banner, when essentially they hung us out to dry.
Rant over - and I know restorations for even older cars are tougher - it was just good to vent that![laugh](/inc/images/laugh.gif)
Well done Toyota…. and I hope other manufacturers follow your lead *cough* Volvo *cough*.
Yep Ford killed the 'old' Volvo.I’m restoring a Volvo 480 at the moment and it is so hard. When Ford bought Volvo in 2000, they absolutely decimated spare part reserves.

Back in the 70's and possibly into the 80's I can remember Volvo's newspaper adds featuring their old cars proudly stating that they had full parts support for all past models to be able to keep them on the road. Volvo played on the fact that a lot of the highest mileage cars on the planet were indeed Volvo's!

Ford themselves could do with doing this.
Ford have been missing a huge trick with this for past 10+ years especially with their motorsport heritage. They could have easily licensed Escort shell reproduction for historic rallying, and lots of bits for the Lotus-Cortinas, RS Escorts, RS Capri's and RS Sierra's etc.Ford USA have done this, so its not as if corporately they don't get it.
Baffling.

Ford themselves could do with doing this. Many parts are NLA for cars that went out of production in the 90's and some in the 2000's. Let's not mention 80's cars.
They have. Some non-essential parts for '90's cars e.g. heat shields actually went NLA after five years. Quite shocking really! BMW and especially Mercedes are quite good at supporting old stock.
