Back in the day, competitors in Time Attack were bringing over 1,000 bhp. The AFP Subaru was running these numbers, and weighed around 900kg, if I remember correctly. And the RCM Subaru's would certainly be competitive against the AFP car.

I just can't see the Conti being competitive. Too heavy, and not powerful enough.
You'll be wrong then - have you seen how the previous iteration (less power, aero etc) did in UK Time Attack? In many rounds it was faster than the ultimate class (Pro Extreme 4WD):

From RCM:

"Driving the Bentley to 6 victories in 7 events and culminating with a stunning double victory and lap record at the double header season finale at Snetterton, Luke took the 2019 Time Attack Championship title and accumulated more points than any other competitor this season across all classes!"

Having seen the recent pics of Gobstopper 3 even the upgraded GT3 will have it's work cut out. It's a massive leap from pretty much anything that's competed in TA in the UK for a long time.

That is properly cool, top marks for silliness.

However, I'm slightly bemused by the marketing potential of this. I'm not sure how a completely stripped out, remodelled racing car, weighing nearly a tonne less than the road car, sells the roadgoing product to ambling retired solicitors from Guildford.

Still, best of luck to them with the hillclimb.

I don't think the two will be directly competing as Time Attack 1 doesn't allow tube frame cars.

It's more a comparison when they're both doing the same TA rounds over here. I should've made that a bit clearerhehe

Until they compete head to head, it's a moot point. But Goodwood FoS seems to suggest the RCM Subaru is no slouch?
