Presumably original thought is parroting the low brow stuff churned out by the Daily Mail and Telegraph.

Shouting at clouds, is that the new saying? It's boring already.
No, it's 22 years old.

Over used on here by people incapable of original thought.
Look at the thread, show me where my unoriginal post is and then point us to your worthwhile contribution.

The same arguments pollute seemly every EV thread, I’m not a massive fan of some cars but I don’t spam the every thread about them.

Simply observing it’s overused and has been for years.

Interesting, I'd not realised the Simpson's connection, instead assuming a link to Aristophanes, but a wee bit of research suggests his 'clouds' referred to the hot air spouted, and believed, by sections of Greek society...so, it is perhaps even more apt for this, and other threads.... smile

Lot of interesting comments.

I've owned a Model 3 for over 3 years and there are for sure trade off's, cheaper feel to interior but it has never particularly bothered me and it feels more like it isn't trying to be premium. I believe the UK's goal for Tesla at least is to push more 3's and Y's hence now only having LHD model S and X. They want to become more accessible and I'm guessing push significant volume, leverage as Robotaxi's and be cheap to repair etc.

In the 3 years I've owned mine, the ONLY cost aside insurance and charging has been a new set of tyres...thats it. Most issue's i.e odd rattle, issue with a piece of trim, I've simply recorded via the app, scheduled for someone from Tesla to come out and fixed it quick and prompt.

Re the new model 3 performance...I am hugely tempted!

An early episode of The Simpsons aired in about 420BCE correctly predicted that Aristophanes would write that.

I feel like they changed the other models to make them looks less like the M3P rather than change the new one to look more differentiated from the old one. Noting the air guiding vents, the upgraded brakes/calipers, rear carbon spoiler and 20” wheels are still the main differentiators plus a couple of extra things.
I am thinking not only the looks but also adaptive dampers and much better seats are a more compelling option than in the old case of just bigger wheels/brakes and a lowered suspension with the same interior...

Any reviews which show the performance against the older more powerful performance?

It’s a different battery (Panasonic in the US, LG elsewhere). Performance stats are the same though (officially, at least).

2 problems:

They're fundamentally not very good cars. (Yes, I have owned one)

Musk is a complete tool and I refuse to support anything he does.

Support Fisker instead. They're cheaper too.

Just as a counter, I have owned 2 Model 3s and they are an excellent EV - fast, comfortable, cheap to run. I have also owned an electric Hyundai and Nissan as well as many other ICE cars.

I have never bought a car based on what the CEO is like, and I doubt you have too!

Fisker is a dead duck.

Isn’t Fisker on the brink of going under and only makes SUVs?

Depending on wherr you get your news, Tesla aren't necessarily the success they think they are...

Only get a Fisker if you're confident it'll never break or you'll ever need a spare part.

You literally can get almost no spare parts for it and in all probabilities the company won't be around by Christmas so your manufacturers warranty is almost useless.

Pretty good value car though, quite a few on AT for ~£25k with massive batteries.

If £25k is disposable change for you then go for it, for me it's not lol.

Yeah, but they aren’t openly considering filing for bankruptcy. And people have been hoping to short Tesla for years, so there’s always been FUD spreading on that front.

Much prefer the look of the front on the new model 3. To me, the old one looked like a kit car that hadn't had the opening for the grille cut out yet.

Which could be rebuked with

A) That's subjective
B) Who cares?

And as has been mentioned, Fisker are going bust. Tesla are not.
